I'm the father of two and the grandfather of 8 and it's every dad's dream that his son would find success in whatever field of endeavor they choose, and I'm confident you made him proud. Rewatching this and it makes me happy that Beard smiles when he talks about his dad. Even though he’s passed, he (to me) obviously has great, fun memories. He not sad because he remembers the good times. I can only hope that I have the same attitude when a parent passes. RIP father Beard.

Loss is the worst thing we as human beings have to experience. We learn how to process grief though it, in order to get to a point of acceptance or the suffering is multiplied and extended. I've lost both my parents, one in 2010 and the other in 2014, a good many loved ones before that and a few since. The hurt doesn't go away but, I have gotten to place of acceptance that this is how life works and I do focus on the best of times with each person who has passed. The only thing we have real control over are the choices we make... ...that includes choosing how we react to how we feel. To be sure this video draws a tear from me in touching my heart... ...mostly as I reflect on the shared experience of loss we all share. Much love to you Rae, you'll do just fine. Do be sure to resolve any and all issues you may have with people you love, while you can in person.
