I love that the moment in the music video when he wakes up after the fight just to repeat the same struggle again he says "the continuum" and then we see him tie the ribbon on the tree right above where he did the first time we see him and we realize he's relived this day hundreds of times. UGH. Such a cool concept. It's like the deity who gave him the powers in Alkaline is testing him and he's stuck in this limbo til he passes the test.

I have a feeling this may be a reason that they aim to stay anonymous for now. Vessel has been around for a minute and could certainly have been world famous if he wanted to. I think he probably likes the ability to just let the music speak without his actual identity attatched. Also allows him to do other stuff without necessarily being "Vessel from Sleep Token". As much as I'd love to hear him do interviews and explain the meanings, lore, history, etc. Idk if he'd ever break that mystique.

Glad you guys discovered Sleep Token. I discovered them at UK Tech Fest in 2018 and even then, when they only had like 7 songs out and I walked in having never heard of them previously, they totally blew me away. For me, it's because everything they do is done properly, whether it's an atmospheric ambient pop song like this, a full on metal banger like Gods, or anything in between. Their music never feels half arsed or like one type of music with another tacked on for the sake of it. It all feels coherent IMO, which when you add in the godly vocals and technical musicianship, you get something amazing.

@@glennmartin1738 thats totally fair and I can see where you are coming from. As a fan of the band I am biased of course but I think even diehards can admit that the band has a very wide range of sounds throughout their catalogue. Songs like "Gods" are pretty damn heavy. The ending of The Offering is basically just Djent for like 2 minutes. But then there are songs like this one that are mostly soft, atmospheric poppy material with some metal in the mix at the end. So far, I wouldn't put these two lead singles for the new record on my list of top 10 Sleep Token songs but I do enjoy them. I think this band really does focus on the record being more of an experience and songs make more sense in the context of the record as a whole. All that to say, nothing wrong with this not being your thing. If you were willing to give them a little bit more of a chance, my personal recommendation would be the song Jaws as I think it strikes a nice balance between soft pop and metal.
