I love the pov paddleouts and rides. I'm old with a broken back and a bad heart. I grew up surfing from the 80's - 2010. Got in a head on collision with a guy that had epilepsy and had a seizure while driving....lost everything as a result. I'm just glad I'm alive and able to still surf vicariously through your vids. Your helping this old man out more than any pain pills or psychiatrist ever did. Everytime I see a new upload from your channel....I'm on it like a dawn patrol back in the day ! I quit surfing in 2014. I've also got a back problem and a neck injury, plus my shoulders are both blown out from paddling for a good 20 yrs long surf career (volunteer job, no income).

I've told Nate a similar story. I keep getting hit by idiots.. I had my c-spine replaced last year.. can't get any help with disability. I'm too young.. but my bones sure aren't. Take some good vitamins, if you can. Laird Hamilton's functional mushroom coffee creamers are great. Host defense makes an anti-stress & anti-fatigue that are great for depression. Better than crappy pills! I'll be praying for you!✌️❤

For the record, this wave is called Cave because "cave" means basement in Portuguese. It's just that dumb of a proposition. I believe Tiago Pires was the first to surf it and I lived in Ericeira for a year and never saw anyone paddle out. All those locals who showed up, probably only did so because the rumour went around that Nate was in the water. They don't actually go out. Hats off to the ballsiest surfer in the world at the moment.

I surfed from porto area down to espino, kinda similar. that wave is powerful and there is crazy rocks everywhere and even huge sharp boulders can move around in a big swell, and the current can move you to places you don't want to be....props
