Vectoring is also a thing in Mario Odyssey. A lot of the recent 3D Mario games contain vectoring to travel faster recently.

If you're considering running, there's 2 tips I have for running this. 1. If possible, tape your amiibo on the pro controller 2. Go to switch settings and swap d pad left with L button so you can trigger the amiibo and move more comfortably while doing so.

Bowser’s Fury feels tailor-made for speedrunners. Its 2-3 hours long if you play it normally and has 100 shines. Plus its open world and gives you tons of freedom. Its like a mini BOTW.

I tried speed running Bowsers Fury with my friend online. We would stream each other’s screens and use the same timer. The timer would stop once one of us reached 50 shines. The first person to reach 50 shines wins. This took well over an hour because we had never done it before.

This is a really good video! But you should've pointed out, that the speedrunners don't only vector, but also crouchboost. This is a technique to get max vectoring speed or even or that way quicker. If done correctly you duplicate your speed x2 with only 1 crouchboost

Glad to see a video on this! I was the first person to run any% Bowser amiibo with the 40 shine idea because I remember my mind being blown when I found out this game is beatable with 40 shines. I got the first sub 28, 27, 26, 25, and 24. It was fun being a pioneer for this run. My route was much less good but I worked on it myself. I'm glad people optimized this run! It is a fun run! Thanks for this video!

I do not speedrun Bowsers fury but instead of 3dw, there's a lot of things are similar to both of them since they are from the same game as cats, such as the ice boost and the jump boost. I still have lot to learn but managed to get the wr of pp bridge of 2p, not the best but speedrunning 3dw is a lot of fun. maybe not getting the wr but still got 2nd on any%(wait no lm beat it aa),243 and 380 stars. I havent post my single player run yet, I still need to practice more. I always use toad as my character, even tho I know that luigi is way more faster for speedrunning since the jump boost is too op. playing 3dw and Bowsers fury is definitely worth it, I wouldn't speedrun Bowsers fury but maybe trying it since I still have more work on 3dw and my homework(yes I know this is for everyone), this video does helped me a lot of speedrunning 3dw even it's not the same game, so thanks a lot for making this video, it really surprised me that you can do 100% in about 18 mins, 3dw is about 8hrs on 100%, any% is about an hour lol, anyway thanks for the video and I will keep improve my skills and hope to be as good and fast as others do.

Totally unrelated, but I beat Super Mario Odyssey with the minimum Cappy uses and it’s not just captures.The minimum without 2 Player or Insane tricks is 99. Cappy uses:Captures and any cappy Interaction with an object/enemy.

I've done bowser's fury speedrunning before but the rules i use while it is 100 shines no amiibo, but i don't think it has a no glitches version, though i don't know if vectoring counts as a glitch or if its pure phisics & i have only bowser jr. for painting, though it are still just & private speedruns

There aren’t any restrictions regarding gameplay in any of the categories except for whether or not they allow Amiibo. Also, vectoring wouldn’t be considered a glitch.
