One of the videos I've been meaning to make since first starting the channel, I wanted to tackle the questions of "How to build competitive teams in Pokemon" and "Where do I start in teambuilding" with this video. However, as I began working on the series - I quickly realized I had my work cut out for me and decided to split the topic into a small series of videos instead. So stay tuned for future installments of this team building tutorial series.

Must have been nice to live in one of the places that were actually scared and did the whole "quarantine " thing, actually staying home for a long time. I was constantly seeing everything about people staying holed up at home, not going out and stuff and I was just over here working and living life normally like "damn, must be nice to have a paid vacation" 🤣

I've been a super casual player since Blue & Red. All I've ever done is pick Pokémon I like and just giving them the same type move and getting rid of the ones that do no damage. I'm trying my best to learn so thank you for the help. P.S My favourite Pokémon is Zebstrika, that's how casual I am.

I think the most important lesson 1 should learn when getting into competitive play is you will not win every battle. You are gonna lose a lot and that's not bad. Like he said in the video it's impossible to squeeze everything onto a team and you will encounter teams that you don't have an answer to or teams that will shut down what you're trying to do or you're just about to win but that 10 percent chance to miss heat wave happens or you were fully paralyzed for the turn or you flinched to an iron head. RNG will say that you lose the battle but that's just part of the game
@dayshonsmith1485
@dayshonsmith1485 10 ай бұрын
That’s very important to remember!!! that’s usually what I teach people as well! No matter how great your team is… you’re either run into someone who outsmarts you, you miss something that was crucial, you make a wrong Prediction, or the team your facing has answers for your team &/or you have NO answer for there time… it happens and that’s ok. The game has HIGH levels of RNG and prediction in it… being ok with that and not letting it get to u is very important

I just started playing pokemon unbound and have really enjoyed the upped difficulty instead of just spamming my strongest move and sweeping! I'm also starting to learn about EV and IV training and it's so interesting and cool! I was never allowed to play these games as a kid so now I'm 25 and attempting to learn it and really make my brain work and it's been so fun so far! Gotta say though thanks for compressing these down into shorter 10 minute videos and making it easier for a noob like me to understand! Having it broken down into ~10 minute videos is soooo much easier to digest than like a feature film length video explaining it all! Thank you again and I look forward to watching more of your videos!

A very clear and concise video for beginners! I love this series already. My teambuilding skills are kind of decent I guess, but I could definitely use a deeper understanding of what I am doing and why I am doing it. Because my strategy so far was to steal teams and movesets and then tweak them according to my own playstyle and experience lol. I look forward to a video of yours explaining which Pokemon have great synergy and practical examples on how to use them well together.

Still dont understand: what is a wall breaker? Why use it? When use it? What is a tank? How to ev spread it? When use it?
@forenta2061
@forenta2061 3 жыл бұрын
Lenny by my understanding, a tank is a Pokémon that’s like support, and can take a lot of hits. For example, togekiss learns this move called follow me, which makes it so all the attack hit it. In doubles, you can use this so togekiss takes all the attacks, because togekiss has very good hp and special defense and defense. Also, I think a wall breaker means a Pokémon to have that defeats Pokémon like these, because if you can’t deal with Pokémon like togekiss, it can be a very bad situation.

Having varying types and stuff is only if you want to win a lot and fight really good players. The thing is that, most people have no idea what they are doing so you could for instance, choose your favorites. If you have good moves and you understand how to play right, your still gonna win.

Gma is getting older so I live with her to help her out around the house and when she goes out. Honestly though I like the old/rustic/conservative style of decoration anyhow. I also want to not on topic I really like that you broke these up into lessons so you can refer back to individual lessons when you need a refresher on a topic and allows you to watch them at your own pace with out having to chapter search or any work like that just make a playlist put em in and bam you can always find them.

Lol I always make gimmick teams like my doubles NU pink shiny team consisting of a Virizion (assault vest) and Sneasel (eviolite) to use beat up and get 4 stages to my physical attack. Then using reflect to half physical damage (if the Sneasel lives). And since my attack is so low, I can also use foul play against any strong physical opponents (with STAB). My last couple pokemon are mainly just mixed attackers like Celebi (half support, U-turn, still need to get a legit shiny Celebi D:) and Meinshao. Also yes I know Sneasel works really good with icicle crash & knock off but this is a gimmick team :v
