@@peachesandcream4897 Last time I went to the gym, I went with my super ripped genius friend (weird combo i know but hes literally a mathematics genius and fucking huge) and he tried to get me to do his routine but with much lower weights, I think he underestimated how little muscle I had, and how determined I was. I couldn't straighten my arms for weeks. They were stuck at like a 45° angle. When I tried to straighten them, it felt like I was stretching my muscle too far. The worst part was that I was working at Safeway as a cashier... Try grabbing giant boxes of cat litter and jugs of detergent with arms shaped like an L. It was very painful lmao. I haven't went back. That was like 8 years ago. Now I wish I could go back cus my meds are causing me to gain weight. I'm 5'11" and I saw my weight was 180 the other day. I was terrified. One thing I noticed was how skinny/lean a lot of the guys looked here. Guys today are all about being as big and muscular as possible, that’s what’s women go for and what we are used to seeing now. Body types seem to go in and out of style for both genders. For women it was all about curves, then came the athletic aerobic look, then the ultra skinny supermodel look, and now it is the big bum/boob implants look. I wonder what’s next.

It was hard. You had high impact and low impact aerobics that was without jumping. It was made as cardio and not as much as strength although you had aerobics with weights as well. Any time you use big movements you get that pump ticking so much faster than using smaller movements.

I agree, I've seen so many comments of children remembering working out with their moms in the 80s, the music, the suits, the drive, it's an American treasure, I tell you. It's so simple but it defines so much, like the Asian mom who cuts strawberries or the Mexican grandma that can roast anybody in 2 lines or less. I was born in the 2000s and there is nothing remotely close or positive that brings my generation together, we just tear each other apart over politics or what everyone wants society to be. It's a shame technology has made us so blind. I can't help but feel jealous of those who grew up without it, building connections and purpose with their own two hands, actually having something to call theirs.. America does not have to be so divided..

I've seen so many comments of children remembering working out with their moms in the 80s, the music, the suits, the drive, it's an American treasure, I tell you.

I was in college when I saw these. They inspired me to get fit, though I never did get into the spandex. Aerobics led to kickboxing, which led to weight lifting. I started mountain biking, after road biking for 25 years, but have always loved weights. I tried a class with the aerobics + hand weights, like at 38:16. Yeah, if your hands get really sweaty . . . let’s just say bad things happen. 😳
