Ava Nielson has participated in Elko's own Poetry Out Loud program for three years now, as well as at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering's Teen Poetry & Music Open Mics. Ava chose "Rabbits and Fire," written by Alberto Rios, for this performance at the 36th Gathering's Highlights of the Open Mic show on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
