In my humble opinion, outside of the Smithsonian, this is the single greatest museum in the entirety of the United States.

We’ve been there several times over the past few years. I’m not sure how it is now with covid, but there were many veterans that would greet visitors, and answer questions. The best part was when you would hear them interact with other service members that were there to visit. It gave them a chance to share similar stories with one another. Highly recommend to anyone go visit!

i live in Ohio this museum is badass. changes frequently my neighbor in the country had 27 airplanes from ww1 and ww2. he was a hardass but always took us neighbor kids on his golf cart to see his planes. RIP Mr. Reid. his house is now an airport for small aircraft. Pheasant run airport. Leroy, Ohio. I believe he donated it to a local college.

Every time I visit, I always visit this Vietnam vet who works at the museum (mostly does reception at the main entrance), and one time, he told me a story about that exact Caproni Ca. 2 you see in the video, and that Ca. 2 was flown once by the mayor of New York City. He is one of the nicest vets I have ever met. I live close to the museum and I visit any time I can, and I'm now taking flying lessons. Please visit if you can, great place.

As a museum addict I choose: The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago Ill The Smithsonian, Washington DC USAF Museum, Dayton Oh Auburn-Cord Museum, Auburn Indiana In that order. The Air Force Museum is accessible from the bike trail since they built an underpass for the railroad just for the bike trail. The ohio bike trail network connects Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus plus other towns.
