Apache music is just powerful. Every tribe has their own unique sound and differences but something about apache that makes them so distinct. Like an explosion of grace, aggression and tempo!

Many cultures have lots of ways to make musical sounds. There is a whole world outside European thought and culture. I have heard enough cds of beautiful Native American music to be really interested in how many of the sounds are made . I try to listen to what creates the sounds. And perhaps gain a more insight into ideas about music I may not have information about. Thanks for the video.

I have an Apache fiddle made by the man in the video. It’s a really beautiful instrument. Would have been nice if this video also featured the rim blown flutes found around the South West like the Anasazi, Mojave, Pomo and Yuma flutes as they sound very different from Plains style flutes totally different scales. There are also O’odham flutes made from gila river cane that only have three note holes and use their finger as the bird/fetish. I grew up next to an O’odham reservation and I make these kinds of Native American flutes.

When mom, me, my brother and Sister drive over to Qualla we always like to here the old time and bluegrass Cherokee musicians.. I went to a fish fry at Elder Blankenships home on the river. There was a young man with a 5 string banjo and an older guy on an old Martin guitar... That young man could tear that banjo up and make it ring across the running river and bounce of the ridge standing high on the other side..That guitar player was one of talented ones that with his hand an finger give a strumming back up rythem all the while picking some old timey note runs up and down the scale the banjo.. They need to let a Cherokee bluegrass. Band play on the new Opry for the cloggers come out. Cherokee claimed the white mans fiddle, banjo, guitar, Madeline, and upright bass as there instruments as well and their fiddle players learned some tunes from the white fiddler's but they have their on tunes and style that is Cherokee bluegrass.. My Grandpa was Paint Clan and at thd end of the day he wanted to play his banjo and later fiddle.. That's when he would call my Grandma Liza to come in and sing as he played. She could. sing as high as grandpas fiddle would get

Why I'm here: Historically in modern film, the (a) scene tends to be set with a specific sort of music - you all can hear it in your head .. I don't actually know the names of the specific compositions, but there's one for Britain, one for China .. etc. Here in Canada, the CBC tends toward "Waa-waa-waa" wails over drum background when introducing a native based story .. I was just curious as to whether this was the only instrument ever used by the North American indigenous people .. question asked and now answered.

Those ones you listed as from central America are actually from Mexico. They're Aztec instruments. I've watched that particular video hundreds of times.
@T_r052510 ай бұрын
Well central American and south also have native Indian tribes. I’m from Honduras and my uncle explained to me how the Spaniards took over and they won at end. They took over us. That’s where the name Hispanic comes from. It’s comes from Native Americans in Mexico, central and south. Of course you’re gonna hear them play instruments like this. North America is not the only area that has Indians or are Indians. We hispanics are Indians. We just speak Spanish that’s all. Also the aztecs spread out way more down central than just Mexico.
