Hi Steve Thanks a lot for your lesson!! The other day, I went to a secondhand shop to buy a piece of furniture for my guest room. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it because the shop owner said they only accepteddosh/ cash. I had to dip into my rainy day fund to buy three tickets to Korea, which I had been saving for ages.

Always good to hear from you Soph, in your first example 'dosh' is a term for money in general and therefore you could pay what was owed by card . Something like ' I couldn't buy the furnature because I didn't have enough dosh on me" would be fine. For the second example to be correct you would need another 'for' in their ie ' ... which I had been saving for for ages' To sound more natural you could just say '...which I had been saving ages for' but the use of rainy day fund was perfect - Steve
