(ddlc) is a 2017 freeware visual novel developed by the american independent game studio team salvato just for microsoft windows, macos, and linux. the game was initially distributed through itch.io and later became available on steam. doki doki literature club! features a non-traditional plot structure with multiple endings and unlockable cutscenes with each of the main characters. although the game initially appears to be a lighthearted dating simulator, rap battle natsuki vs raven here it is in fact a psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.
raven is a superheroine from teen titans appearing in american comic books published by dc comics. the character first appeared in a special insert in dc comics presents and was created by writer marv wolfman and artist george pérez. and now she rap battles natsuki in a rap battle but a cambion daughter of a demon father trigon and human mother (arella), raven is a powerful empath who can sense emotions and control her "soul-self", which can fight physically, as well as act as raven's eyes and ears away from her physical body have made her. more recently, she has been depicted as being adept with various types of magic and sorcery. she is a prominent member of the superhero team teen titans the character also goes by the alias rachel roth as a false civilian name raven. Natsuki’s lines went pretty hard, but the comebacks of Raven felt incredibly natural to her character. It’s really close, but I think Raven gets the edge, but Natsuki fought undeniably well. Also, after the “wasting your paper” line, kinda expected Natsuki to piss off Raven by mentioning Malchior.

I love how Raven starts her final verse by listing how she tries to protect the planet from Tiragon and all Natsuki does is "trauma dump on any bachelor that happens past" to just truly highlight how truly *different* they are and why Raven isn't exactly hype to rap against Natsuki... So she ends the fight with one of the most brutal verses.

I've watched this battle countless times, but my mind always comes back to the end of Natsuki's second verse. The ouija board to the final line about Raven playing with her boyfriend's feelings. It's just too powerful. This battle was extremely close, but Natsuki's energy and raw disrespect inches this one out for her imo.

Ok, as hard as Natsuki's verses went and the "Ouija Board" line was, I have to give this to Raven. Her rebuttals we're on point and she had lines that genuinely stung! Explaining some references! (I'm not including plain insults or easy to understand ones.) 0:25 - Demons are connected to goats usually,, Raven is half demon. Half of the word goat is go, Referencing to Teen Titans GO! 0:28 - "doing that could go." Again like the side show Teen Titans GO! (Could be a stretch but i'm including it.) 0:33 - Referencing to Beast Boy 0:34 - How Raven locked herself away so she wouldn't loose control and hurt people. 0:42 - Amy is a girl from one of Natsuki's poems called 'Amy Likes Spiders'. It's about a girl who is shunned away from other people because she likes spiders. So Natsuki is saying even Amy, a girl who likes spiders wouldn't like Raven. 0:45 - Two things! One, Eagles Can Fly is one of the poems Natsuki wrote in her game. Two, Raven's mom was part of a cult that worship the demon that was her father. She left out of fear after giving birth to Raven. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1:06 - In the game, Natsuki is very sensitive and defensive against criticism, even it's constructive. 1:16 - She is insulting two things at once. How Natsuki never received any love from her father, and how she was malnourished growing up because her father never had the money to feed her. 1:21 - Again on how commenting on how she was starved as a kid, and how Monika throws a energy bar at her in the second act of the game. 1:25 - Referencing two things, How the rest of her club is trying to get with the protagonist of the game and Sayori's death. But i'm not sure. 1:59 - Raven's mom was killed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2:07 - 2:11 Is just Raven saying her accomplishments which yk good for her. 2:12 - Raven protects earth from danger. Get it? 2:25 - Again referencing how Natsuki got her neck sn4pped off. 2:27 - Buffsuki is a meme in the Doki Doki fandom. 2:30 - Could be a jab at how frail Natsuki is or a reference to a popular theory that Natsuki has a e4t1ng disorder . 2:34 - Raven has the ability to see with her third eye. But she's saying it's so obvious that she doesn't need the magic. 2:37 - Again referencing to the poem 'The Raven'. 2:39 - Raven is mentioning two things again. One, How 'his' (Doki Doki's protag) love was really a game for him, being Doki Doki Literature Club is a dating sim. Two, the word 'Nevermore' is actually the last word in 'The Raven' (the poem), Nevermore means "never again" or "at no time in the future.", So Raven is saying that Natsuki relationship is over and never happening again. Raven's lines were so savage. Not only did she come back hard each time, but her flow was so smooth and fast with the diction and the verbosity. Both rounds were a knockout! And the voice was perfect

@@lilzai38 I agree; fast flows can sound rushed and don’t work with every character. Audibility and enunciation matter as well, and going fast can disrupt these qualities (though this isn’t always the case).

Goddamn, this was so fire, I feel like it is now a great tradition for every year to see a Doki-Doki character get annihilated. 🤣 Also, I am literally so happy that you actually got JesseBoxVO to finally voice a character and even StrawberrySana to help voice in the background, along with K.C. and GarbageGothic. 😍 This was fucking awesome, holy shit, after Peachumari lost as Monika (in my opinion), she crushed her own club as Raven! 😃

Remember how I brought up how we had weirdly differing opinions? Yeah, uh, apparently this is still continuing here. Also, I don’t know about you, but as far as the FRB community goes, StrawberrySana does the best Natsuki interpretation. But JesseBoxVO’s also sounds good and I’m glad the former could be part of this. But back to the main subject, I honestly thought Yuri and Natsuki won their respective Freshy Kanal rap battles. But hey, at least we both agree Harley Quinn won Monika vs. Harley Quinn.

And I'm glad that you agree with me that Harley won, but although, Natsuki's bars went hard, Raven's disses were both harder and more clever. I mean, how do you beat with... "Your relationship was just a game to him, nevermore." I DROPPED MY JAW AT THAT LINE, THAT WAS SO GOOD.

@@Zac4_B7ack that was a good line, but I would have preferred some disses to the side stories as they’re more specific to Raven’s opponent and for her second verse to be the exact same length as Natsuki’s. Doesn’t mean she had a bad performance, it was still great, but imo, Natsuki had fewer flaws. But you do have good reasoning as to why you thought Raven won.

U sure? I though Natsuki had fewer flaws (plus the extra two lines of Raven in round two were unnecessary. I know that the creator doesn’t often like equal line distributions, but I could’ve worked there; Raven could’ve not gone overtime for that round at least). Also, I noticed some “repeated disses” and ones that don’t hit as hard as others; if I were part of the writing process, I would go look at the DDLC+ side stories with Natsuki in them for a good fight. Specific disses to a character tend to hit harder, and this could have given Raven a better chance of winning. Also, “Raven crushed her with her last verse”, it literally (imo) had the fewest amount of Don DeMarco worthy lines, with about 4-5 (compared to the previous three verses, which have 12, 9-10, and 8 Don DeMarco’s respectively, though you may disagree with this if you’d like).
