Somebody said she cut her hair because of a back to back protective style. Protective hair is the best way to grow your hair. When we were young we did protective styles alone and our hair thrived. I feel it is our over manipulation, nutrition, hormonal changes, not trimming and the abuse of hair products that cause set backs. When we were younger, our parents left our protective styles on for a longer period of time but now we do so many in three months and we forget we are no longer kids but adults that will experience issues as we grow older.

I completely agree with you, it's like everything, too much of a good thing can be bad. My back to back protective styles did contribute to my hair issues. Because of the over manipulation I was doing, and the way (being not so gentle) I did them. And also the choice of *protective* style. Like you rightfully said it's ONLY a part, nutrition hormones stress play a role, arguably a much bigger role. I will definitely be using protective style to grow it back, because my hair loves it. This time I will make better decisions on the styles, and how I handle my hair, I also got blood work done to make sure all is well. And revamping my deit to eat more nutritious meals. Reference to when we were kids yep. I did braids back to back for 3months minimum and my hair grew. This over 30s thing mehn changes you 😂🤣. with my daughter I only do protective styles, her hair is in twists 99% of the time

The timing of this video is amazing.. I just recently had to cut off a good 8-10inches of hair because of back to back "protective styling" over the course of several years.. Yeah I had legnth, but my density and the ends of my hair was terrible.. I stopped styling in Jan 2021 and had to let all of the little sprigs of hair grow back in.. Then last month I went in and got my kinky curly cut to shape and define my hair.. I am on the low to no manipulation styling for the next year at least.. But I'll be doing solely wash and go's, because idk how to do anything else.. 😂 Hence it previously being under weaves for so many years.. Well... Heres to new beginnings.. 🤗💖 Btw, your cut looks amazing...

Thank you for watching, I'm happy that you decided to let go of the ends I know hard that can be sometimes. Wash n go when done right can be a great way to go, trust you are following iamblackgirlcurl tips. Thank you @ cut, I really enjoy cutting hair 😁. Yay to new beginnings!

Omg.. i am literally watching and doing my hair too.. i have been sick now for a week. I didn’t have any strength to take care of my hair and when i tell you that i had a freakin bird nest 🤦🏾♀️🤣 It was in knots my ends needed a trim. I washed n cond. today and gosh.. the SETBACK! 😢all those months of taking care of my hair to this🤦🏾♀️ But i am determined to grow my hair again. My struggle is also to pass my neck(growth plateau) Btw, you are beautiful 😻 & so is your hair!!

We do too much. That can contribute to setbacks too.

I can’t stand setbacks the long wait. Having to wait into hair grows back. Feel like centuries and decades. I don’t even trim my ends. Cause they break off anyway.

Stress has got us all so don't be too hard on yourself. Covid-19 is after our inches too. If you try to reduce your stress and stop the excess manipulation, I think you'll be back on track. .. and girl, where is your satin wrap/ cap? there is noo excuse for that one 🤣 I'm with you except for the no-heat and I'm not about the finger-detangling only life.

How do you see the back of your hair. What mirrors do you use and how do you position them? I need help with that please.
@ItsAbeeyola2 жыл бұрын
Hi i used my camera to see the back of my hair. Without that, you can sit backing a large mirror then place another in front of you. You would look at the front mirror to see the back.
