That's my problem as well. Trying new products and not using them often to see if they worked or not. Also, my hair gets weighed down easily with products and I remember when I first went natural I used the original SM raw shea butter shampoo and conditioner and I that had my hair growing fast but I stop using it trying to see what works.

I just bought some Shea Moisture today. Can't wait to try. Oh I purchased at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Because I purchased $30 or more, I was given $10 gift card for Bed, Bath & Beyond! So that was a nice surprise.

Each of the set backs you have mentioned are areas of aggravation I am currently dealing with, especially the crown and bra strap length hair. I JUST cut off two inches, which irritated me to no end! I've pretty much came to the same conclusion as you, so I appreciate your video. It encourages me to stay faithful with my care, because my goals are attainable.

Try to do more protein treatments on that part of your hair as well! that part of your hair actually tends to be a higher porosity than the rest of your hair.

Yes! Finally a natural hair video that is encouraging for those of us that have had set backs in growing our hair past a certain length. I’ve had the exact same issues you have had with your hair , with the exception of thinning edges. Keep up the the informative and positive videos!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE SHARED! You have helped me as you described how you noticed you had to keep getting your ends trimmed to bra strap length after growth. I USED TO get tired of people saying my hair is long AND PRETTY BUT it isn't long to me bcz, I have been at bra strap for most of my life. I had to learn to love what I have and not take it for granted. I just wanted to get at least 5 inches. I also noticed that my ends start to break and split around 2 to 3 months. I too tried to go past 3 months and had to get more cut back to bra strap length. 😫 You just don't know how you have helped me realize that I need to trim every 2 to three months. I can't do what others do by not getting a trim for 6 to 12 months at a time. It doesn't work for me. I was SOOO relieved When you shared how YOU noticed at 3 months you needed a trim. Your timing of posting this video couldn't have come at a GREAT TIME! You have blessed me more than I can express!! WOW! I can see the light now. As soon as I see a knot, I recognize it IS time to trim. It is around 2 1/2 to 3 months... but as a dusting process,... I don't trim a lot at all. Just a tiny tiny teeny amount. GOD BLESS YOU!!!! 🤗

The crown area can also become excessively dry because we tend to stand under the showerhead exposing that area of the hair and scalp to the warm/hot water! Mine is the same way

Regarding the crown: In my case, my crown is the area with the highest porosity and is most prone to dryness and breakage. It is also the area where my hair is the most dense. Because of that, in the shower I often worried that when I washed my hair that I'd "miss a spot" at my crown and not get it clean enough. Going overboard with the shampoo was probably what led to my crown issues. At one point, I even got a Komaza hair analysis and they were the ones who warned me about shampooing that spot too much.

What products do you use for deep conditioning and moisturizing your hair!? Also, I'm an athlete and sweat a lot so I currently keep my hair in a weave to protect it as much as possible until I'm no longer active! Any tips as far as how to have a sew in but to protect your hair so that it can continue to grow in the process!?
@PowerInYourCurl7 жыл бұрын
My video "9 Days of Moisture | A Week In My Hair" shows all of my favorite products for moisture and my favorite deep conditioner ☺️ Also, I have never had a sew-in but I would think moisturizing your hair underneath the weave is really important so that it does not get dry and brittle and cause breakage during the take-down process. You could use a spray leave in on your hair underneath (Mielle Organics White Peony Leave In OR Oyin Jucies & Berries Leave In) and then seal that moisture in with an oil applied from an applicator bottle. Just be sure to let your real hair fully dry after applying the moisturizing products so that it does not get mildewy underneath the extensions. I hope this helps!

In my boarding school, particularly the hostel I stay in, we have multiple people in the showers at the same time in separate cubicles but girls are always walking around naked. But it wasn't as bad as the time I went on a field trip at school when I was 15 where there were 7 girls in the shower at once to save time, as in in the same cubicle.

Great video girl! I've been trying to figure out the trimming process I used to do it once a year and my stylist would trim off so much and then recently I was told to do it every 6 months to retain length but I think I'm going to try every 4 months just to see if it makes a difference because my hair grows but it breaks

I'm pretty much stuck at bra strap length like you were. For the life of me I can't pass it lol. I actually got a hair cut today, so I went back to right below shoulder length from bra strap. ugh. The stylist said my hair was weak and I'm behind on my trims. I'm not sure I needed so much cut, but I'm trying not too overthink it lol. I think I need to up my trims too. The stylist said every 8-10 weeks, so I'll try the every 3 months and see how that goes. I have fine hair so I can look at my hair wrong and it'll thin out lmao. Thanks for the tips!

Hello i just wanted u to know that I'm a new subscriber and I look forward to following you even tho you've achieved your goal length. Your hair is beautiful btw. But I have relaxed hair. Do u think I can achieve maximum hair growth with a relaxer? And also do you know any good relaxers and products I can use?
@PowerInYourCurl7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I do not know of any good relaxers but some great brands that have products you may like are Mielle Organics, Kera Care and Design Essentials. I haven't had a relaxer in a while so I am not sure about specific products. Also, your question about reaching your maximum growth is personal to you. For me personally, I feel that for my hair will not achieve its maximum health while being exposed to chemicals and if my hair isn't at its healthiest, it won't grow to its full potential.

Serious dry scalp issues no matter how much oil I put in my hair which is cut really low to the scalp. I don't want long hair just healthy hair. If I scratch my head the blizzard is blinding. Any suggestions? I have tried argon oil, coconut oil and vitamin e oil to no avail. I suck it up and it goes dry less than a half a day. Help!! 🙏🙏😢😢

Do you cowash your hair with conditioner? or use a lot of product?
@fattysl267 жыл бұрын
Vicky Kimball Sounds like oil is the problem. I saw a trichologist and they said you shouldn't put oil on your scalp. Product build up can make it itchy with the oil. Make sure you cowash/shampoo your hair on a regular basis, at least once a week. I used to have itchy scalp with oils and since I stopped using them my scalp has been fine.
@jennywiththefur7 жыл бұрын
make sure you wash & massage your scalp with a lathering shampoo and go in deep with your fingertips (I suggest switching between a sulfate one and a a sulfate free one every other week) + use the sulfur 8 balm on every wash day. sprits/moisturise your scalp/hair daily with water and massage with olive oil afterwards. you could use the sulfur 8 daily too instead of the oil
