I find it super weird how a lot of naturals won't use sulphate shampoos ( not all sulphates are harsh) but will massage Vicks vapour rub (specified for cold/flu) in their scalp which has synthetic camphor in it ???? Anything that cannot be used for the face, should not be put in the scalp. PERIOD! As you can see non hair specified products like natural oils & shea butter can be used for the face & scalp ...
@angelinar9277 жыл бұрын
Reni it's not that it's harsh it's drying and doesn't give your curls there life

@reni84137 жыл бұрын
Angieee. xo you need to use a sulphate shampoo once in a while. Some shampoos contain sulphate but are moisturising. Sulphate is good for getting rid of product build up. It doesn't have to be regular use but at least to allow your scalp to breathe. Imagine all that gunk embedded in your scalp??? The best way to get rid of that is to use a shampoo with sulphate. It all boils down to how often you use sulphate & how harsh they can be. Simple. Don't get why so many naturals are scared of sulphate. If you have a good conditioner, you won't even notice
@reni84137 жыл бұрын
We use sulphate for the face and skin. No one is breaking out. You obviously will use a good moisturiser to balance it out.

What needs to die is these natural hair mothers trying to grow their babies hair. So unnecessary for a BABY! Just make sure to keep their scalp healthy and hair moisturized and let it grow on it’s own! And some of these mothers determined to make sure their child doesn’t end up 4c
@femmefatale01017 жыл бұрын
The neo natural hair movement says: Don't put hair grease in your head! Use Vicks vapour rup and Monistat instead! Gotta love 'em! Doesn't matter that the harshness of Vicks can cause your skin to peel (as it does with me if I use too much and/or too often) but it's worth that inch(?) of hair. Nevermind it isn't formulated for prolonged use, as a decongestant or a hair product(?), but yeah... get them inches.

Vicks had my hair grow two inches within three weeks. It literally has the same ingredients as many of the other hair products we use. My mother used Sulfur 8 in my hair after a hair cut and it grew back quickly, so I thought to give Vicks a try. It may seem crazy, but your scalp isn't too different than the skin under your nose, chest, and places people rub Icy Hot, which has the same ingredients.
@cindychristian17007 жыл бұрын
Shay how often did u use the Vicks and what is you're Vicks hair routine?

Cindy Christian I literally moisturize my scalp once a week you don’t have to wash it out unless your scalp is really sensitive I don’t wash it out my hair
@19Hollisterchick907 жыл бұрын
It was applied liberally and kept in for 20 minutes before my weekly co-wash and applied lightly to my scalp three days out the week. It leaves the hair super shiny and manageable after a wash.I actually used the off brand that you can find in Dollar Tree or 99 Cents store. The ingredients are the same, btw.
