I was experiencing very bad indigestion and constant burping it kept me awake at night. So I cut out tea and coffee, ate smaller meals. Cut out eating in the evening ate my last meal about 5pm. I also stopped eating certain foods, spices etc. Mainly eating whole foods and no dairy. It does work it took several months and I would say my symptoms have gone. I have reintroduced spices and some low ph veggies and all seems well. I would rather do this than take PPI meds as they dont cure the problem.

Oh dear, poor Dr Simon Smale hasn't clocked that something like 80% of GERD is directly due to the eating of cereal grains, i.e. wheat (in any form), oats (all of them, even if labelled 'gluten free', as they cannot be gluten free, as oat gluten, avenin, is in all oats), rye, and barley, and spelt. Other cereal grains can also disrupt, such as rice and corn, but do less far less commonly. Wheat and oats are THE worst offenders. Get off gluten, for a month and see what happens to YOUR acid reflux. A hiatus hernia is another matter, and is common, and is far less responsive to getting off gluten.

I'm 15, have had sharp and dull chest pains on the left side for 6 months and went to the hospital twice after having panic attacks. They gave ma a cardiogram and said everything with my heart is fine but I keep getting those pains the more I think about them. I also get heart attack symptoms such as dizziness and pain but they are literally the same as anxiety symptoms so I get scared because I don't know if I should call an ambulance. Someone please answer, is it a heart problem or is it just anxiety because the doctors said I just stress out too much but when I do sport or something that makes me focus it takes my mind away from the pains and I feel generally fine until I think about them again. Should I stop thinking about it like the doctors said?

I first eat a snack (1/2 an avocado), the exercise for 15 minutes vigorous jogging or other cardio, or I exercise for 30 minutes moderate jogging. I also perform body weight exercises after cardio. Then I have my salmon or mackerel, or (oh no!) oatmeal with frozen blueberries. Still, GERD and skipping heart beats have stayed away. In addition, I've lost eight pounds and now reside in the ideal BMI zone. Not eating all the time helps. And I still drink coffee--2-3 cups per day. It explains a lot as I have only had GERD issues since I developed insomnia following a period of no sleep while watching movies on a 6 + 17 hour night flight (eastwards) with a day of being awake either side. So it seems sorting out the sleep quality is very important. My question is about caffeine. I am a one coffee a day person. I did give it away for about a month with no difference to my night time reflux. Is absolute caffeine abstinence imperative? First of all, thank you for taking the time and trouble to share this most valuable information, I agree with everything that you have said. Secondly, I would like to share how I resolve (nearly every time) the problem I have with a sliding hiatus hernia. It was only by chance, after a variety of very expensive procedures over a number of years, that one of the doctors spotted that the cause of my GERD was actually a sliding hiatus hernia (it was not always present). After much research I came across a very old remedy - drink plenty of water, then jump up and down (not too heavily). The jumping, in conjunction with the weight of the water in the stomach, will pull the gastro- oesophageal junction back into its rightful place.

Wait, so does gerd cause drooling at night?
@zdg1684 жыл бұрын
Yup.. had it twice at night and once in the morning a few weeks after being diagnosed. The longer you cope with GERD the less effective symptoms become.. hang in there pal I’ve had it for 2 months and hope to heal soon.. just do the basic stuff

Raise the head of your bed 8 inches. No more GERD while sleeping.
