Did you know that Dandelions are actually a weed you can eat or even make a tea out of ? Good for you . Clover and Red clover also can make a tea out of it .

One weed I don't mind having, and they make pretty flowers which my rabbits like to eat along with the leaves

Applied the weed killer as you recommended. Saw results that evening, And each day has looked better on the killing of the weeds!! While I don’t go barefoot in my yard (stickers), I have four small size dogs that run and play. I have made it a twice daily ritual to walk my yard with a 5 gallon bucket just to pick out the stickers!! I hope my K9Crew appreciates me!! Ty for your tutorial, young man.

What kind of vinegar did you use? Thanks

That formula does look effective. I think the weeds you had the most problems with are the one with a deep root system. Dandelions for example can have a tap root that can go down 12" or more. Perhaps pulling the weed out after a couple of applications can be helpful.

You know if that chemical is killing off our bumblebees? Why Do they let them keep making it for? It should be outlawed. I don't care for the pet safe stuff and granules. My sister-in-law keeps throwing down ant poison and it makes me mad. And she says it's pet. I don't think so.

Last year I used vinegar and salt on crabgrass. Dead within a couple of days. Didn't know about adding soap. Will use it next time.

Thank you. This is really helpful: the examples of different weeds, the tip on using the sunlight and even how to mix. One question on the white vinegar, some have 5% acidity, some have 10% acidity, which one did you use?
@OldSoulMillennial2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I don't recall. I just purchased whatever shop rite had on the shelf. I would hypothesize that the 10% would be stronger.
@SheltiesRule49 Жыл бұрын
Just to add a comment, i used 5% vinegar and it worked very well. I know I will have to re-spray next month, but that’s OK with me!

I sure hope that weed killer doesn't stick to your boots and then walk on grass....As far as the half dead weeds, it's only been three days, give it a couple of more days.

I'm gonna try this on my blackberry bushes I have. Man those things are a mother.........
@OldSoulMillennial Жыл бұрын
I don't think this would be strong enough for bushes. Best to just yank them out.

So it kills grass?
@OldSoulMillennial Жыл бұрын
Repeated applications, I would say yes. You do not want to spray this on grass to just kill the weeds. This solution is like a safe natural version of roundup.

Vinegar is fine, but this guy hasn't got a clue. The compound (not element) in Roundup is glyphosate, nothing to do with phosphate. I prefer not to use it, but its harmfulness is not really proven.

Is this combination pet friendly?
@OldSoulMillennial2 жыл бұрын
I'm not a scientist, but I would say of all the options, this is the most pet friendly. Aside from pulling weeds by hand. Just understand that for stubborn weeds, you will need to apply this multiple times.
