Our IWS is almost 3 years old now. Very tolerant towards the kids. Loves to play and swim. Very nice and stable dog.

I would love an IWS mainly to show, but also do a bit of agility and do some gun training even if shooting from a wheelchair might be a little tricky! The problem is I’ve been struggling to find a breeder in UK! I’d also love to know what is it like to prep their coats for shows bathing wise? Like do they need bathing before every single show, even if showing 2 weekends in a row, or can they get away with going to a show without a freshly bathed coat? I currently have a standard poodle and while he’s unregistered I’ve done all his grooming and tried out show clips, but while I would love a std poodle to show, I’m disabled and found the bathing, fluff drying and getting the intricate clips perfect, the night before fun shows hard enough, but the idea of bathing after show to get products out as well (It may not be allowed but I don’t know anyone in poodle world not using hairspray in the ring!), makes my back hurt just thinking about it! Especially when most of the shows I’ve been too with my Tibetan terrier have had me setting off between 1-3am (After being awake all day bathing and drying), rushing about at show, usually with my 2 pet boys in tow, and then driving 3-6hours it get home, so the idea of putting a bath on the end of that, even the nights I’ve taken a 2 hour nap in 4 service stations in a row (Got to make use of their 2 hours free parking lol)! Sorry went a little off topic! Anyway I’d love to know how intense the show bathing process is and if they need a bath before every show etc! Hopefully one day I’ll be able to find a nice boy to show one day as they look like such an awesome breed and just can’t understand why they are so low in numbers. I honestly don’t understand how they are not growing massively in numbers when the spaniel bred mongreldoodles are so popular. Why buy a cross, often from farms and breeders, when there is a breed that exists with similar traits to spaniels and poodles and would benefit from a rise in numbers! Granted I wouldn’t want to see numbers explode because I assume it’s much harder for the rare breeds to end up in bad homes, I can’t see puppy farms taking in less popular breeds and with a small group of dedicated breeders it’s easier to breed out health problems that arise, but still seems dumb that cockerpoos are everywhere, yet IWS are very hard to come by even when looking desperately for breeders!
