I'm 39, male, and something about this age and living alone is sad, and I never thought I'd experience loneliness. My friends, cousins are all off getting married with kids, and what do I have? No one. It feels depressing when I know I have a lot to be thankful for. It's not that I'm codependent, but its the feeling of having someone there, a roommate, friend, who lives with you has a sense of security, that whatever you may experience, or experiencing, you don't have to go through it alone.

I'll never forget what my very dearest friend told me, you're not by yourself, you're with yourself. Total words of wisdom for me when I was breaking up with my bf of almost 9 years.

Girl, I’ve been living on my own for 16 years now. At your age I felt the same, but was still able to get a date. Then the older I got, the pickier I became after many failed relationships. I felt sadness when all my friends married and connected less with me. Then at every baby shower, I was asking myself, when will it be my turn to experience this? I’m 39 now and have finally accepted that I may be alone for the rest of my life.. become an old cat lady lol.. and possibly never have the opportunity to have kids. Sorry to sound like a downer, but I really resonate with what you’re saying. I’ve given up on a lot of things in life lately… expectations, my vain-ness, goals etc. due to all the disappointment & challenges I experienced. I hope and believe that you will find your true love soon and not feel loneliness again. Isn’t that what we all want? Thanks for being so vulnerable.

I’ve been living alone for 2 years now. After a relationship breakup. At times I’m scared to be alone in life. I have a great life, at 37 I hope in 10 Years time I’m with a great man that wants to do life together. It is hard when I’m by myself in my own thoughts, is this what Gods plan is for me, i just have to wait enjoy the peace

It’s tough. You think your life will happen one way, but it’s a blessing in disguise. I’ve always felt a bit lonely, even in relationships. Closest person is my dad but sometimes I feel he ends up siding with my mom. Best advice is to continue working on yourself and your journey.

As a 27 year old female I totally relate to this video. I had moved out alone to establish self development and to just learn how to do more to do more things on my own. So far I’ve learned a lot but then there’s that feeling of loneliness that creeps up on me , we’ll it used to. When it did creep up on me it made me very depressed. Recently I had stopped dating someone . I thought things were gonna be different with this man and I but then all of a sudden he pulled the carpet from under me and said he wanted to focus on other things. Then I had met a girl on bumble to hang out with and we were cool and talked everyday and we had seen each other in real life one day , but then one day I just stopped hearing from her and I discovered she blocked me. When I thought of these situations and how strange they were I thought to myself “maybe I’m just supposed to be alone” . For a moment I had accepted that. I cured my loneliness by setting up a new schedule for myself and going out on my own much more often. I would go out to dinner by myself, go to the casino’s just for the hell of it, go shopping, write in my journal , work out, learn new recipe’s, explore beaches, allat. Once I really started to pour in to my life and not waste my days by moping around or being in bed all day on the weekends , loneliness felt like a thing of the past tbh and I began to feel very comfortable with being in a solitude state because I was the one in control and I didn’t have to worry about bad vibes from anyone. The key to killing loneliness is really to just get active , go outside, explore your city, learn new skills that’s can turn in to money, take more self care days, and start traveling alone and get a nice hotel . Turn that tv upppp. Use the room service!! Claim that main character energy!!!

I am 42 and I live alone.. it’s not always easy. I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well.. I just came back from a solo trip. I cried the day before I left. It was so weird cuz when you go on trips with friends you get so excited together and you talk about your trip weeks in advance and now I had no one to share it with. It was hard. But oh man what a great experience to travel alone. I had a few small moments where I was a bit sad but most of the day I was so excited I got to do exactly what I wanted to do. And I was also very sick for a few days and it totally sucks cuz I also had to walk my dog and it was almost impossible..that’s def a downside of living alone. I’m thinking of you but I’m so proud of you.. and you’re right when I feel alone i also go out alone and have a dinner or drinks…do something nice for me.. yes i watched the entire video girl!

The bit about taking care of yourself really hit home for me. A few weeks ago I was delirious with fever and still had to function enough to make sure I was fed and watered to get through the illness. I'm generally good at being alone by now but loneliness always hits hard when I'm ill, and just in general illness is the thing I find most challenging about living alone.

✨🪺🌿thank you Negeen. We all need to get real about the illusion that a romantic relationship will fill the space. A romantic relationship may be a beautiful distraction for three months or a year until limerance ends and then again we are left with the foundation we did or did not create beforehand. Without a doubt you are one of the most grounded, creative, articulate, resilient, intelligent and funny people I have encountered in this space. Know you are enough. We all are. And people in relationships, and with the kids, have plenty of problems. People should be proud of themselves for being healthy and single until a healthy relationship comes along. It’s not easy to do. Which is why people settle and hide the struggle. You are a role model that is greatly needed.

53 and was married for 20 years have almost live alone for 5 years and the best advice is FOMO or fear of missing out will derail your positive mindset. I have suffered on and off with being lonely, if the universe has it all worked out then it will happen, I have made peace with that. I will suggest universe has moved you to a new phase, go for a trail walk some where and look at green things. Swim in the sea 🌊 go somewhere else you never have been. I literally go for a bush walk a different place every weekend 5-9 km walking. Listen to Depeche Mode Live and Dance with Dave, high five ✋ your self in the mirror. I eat alone at cafe and restaurants all the time, I just pull out my laptop and Uni work nobody blinks an eyelid. Being completely self sufficient is difficult totally resonates. You are blessed with having friends to actually do stuff with. I work as a mental health support worker and do university at the hospital for 2-3 hours 3 times a week so I generally have to book my friends weeks in advance. Your calling is Life-coach and Counsellor. Keep going you got this. I got my parents a 🐶 mini schnauzer chance of me having kids slim bah ha ha oh I am going to listen to led zeppelin #neveralone

Negeen, I appreciate you being vulnerable. I completely relate to what you are feeling. I am turning 27 in a few months and I always reflect on my life and not being a relationship is that area of my life. I feel so insecure about it. It is so difficult being the one friend out of the group who isn’t in a relationship. I honestly starting tearing up when you got emotional. I truly don’t understand why I am still single . I have so many friends and I am outgoing. I can make anything else happen in just about any other area of my life : school, job, etc .. but dating.. I just haven’t success . I do feel the pressure you’re talking about because I want my parents to be grandparents someday .. and they aren’t pressuring me, it’s me putting the pressure on myself 😕

I live really close to my family, like literally walking distance or a short 3 minute drive so whenever I’m feeling alone (bc I’m 25 and do live alone also, I just bought a house a few months ago), I go visit them and it helps soooo much! I also have been into watching solo travel vlogs bc they show that you can really have the best time alone! I’m trying to get out more so that I can actually date and meet people but I’m such a homebody. 😭 I think you should go out to bars and sit alone, you’ll meet someone! That’s what I plan to do.

Girl… you talking the TRUTH! It’s the reality of being single! I have felt the same exact way! I agree ☝🏾 it’s only a season of life and I admire you for speaking on it on your channel and embracing it! If you desire a partner and family of your own I believe it has to happen for you, believe that it will ❤️ I travel alone, dine alone, and go to the movies alone, workout alone and I’ve become really comfortable with it! I also cry alone when relationships don’t work out or the inconsistency of dating makes me sad! It’s all real and we all feel it, the good and bad❤️ I made a promise to myself that I would stay single as long as it takes to meet and marry the right man. A LOT of people settle because they don’t want to be alone and succumb to the pressure but the most important love in your life is your self love! Everything else stems from that and that’s a love that truly lasts a lifetime 🥰

I find this video to be SO relatable. I am a 31 year old heterosexual female and I’m single and live alone. I feel SO much pressure to find a relationship. #neveralone! I'm obsessed with living alone and I love spending lots of time messing about in the house by myself, but I do isolate myself. I know that people need other people, and that reaching out is actually a crucial part of doing it all by yourself, but when my mood and energy start to decline, I just don't have the energy anymore to reach out and be social.. Also on top of that I just don't have friends here 😅 Moving to a new country during a pandemic, being unemployed for months, and now working from home, wasn't easy. I'm slowly making acquaintances and friends though :) it helps a lot.

I glad I found your channel. I'm single yet happy. I don't care to date or go on a relationship to get to know someone anyone. I know nothing is wrong with me even 3 years or 5 years or ten. I don't care really now to go around people because I get sick of people talking about I'm pretty and I should have a man. No fear, I'm single and I'm at peace with it and I don't want a man. Later when I get to where I'm happy to be living at the most not dreaming but living there I will get the perfect, silly dog and fish. Not a man who has that crap my own. I will never get married or live in a house with a person I will soon be living in a small home enough space for me and my dog. I don't care about a man that might be interested in me. Am I supposed to be fake and be like awe let's do this when I know I don't care to be with a man. Lord save me from the Men who be like, " I got money I can take care of you"? Damn do I look helpless? I can get what I need and have what I got and still be happy. I don't want to be touched by a man. I care about being touched by the life that I'm living that has me living single. I don't have many friends and don't need to many mainly the love bombing friends that be like, " you are going to make a man so happy you need love ans sex girl"! No let me take back from you my life ans yes you what the heck i don't want a relationship. Your beautiful though I think that beautiful woman like you would never have an issue when your ready to date. I wouldn't be hard on yourself because you don't want a relationship.

If you’re lonely then why do you feel the need to accept it ? Why not do what you can to make connections or find a life partner ? Maybe even start a family down the road ? Life is way more fulfilling sharing the journey with others . Sadness and loneliness is an invitation to relationship; it’s the beginning of a desire to know others. Be open to the possibility that your whole life could change. You could come out on the other side a new person. Becoming a wife and mom has been the deepest transformation process for me and I’m so glad I’m not who I was before .

1st you are really strong, being vulnerable in front of everyone is not an easy thing. 2nd these things also happen if we are in relationship, its a part of life , trust me. 3rd life is never hopeless until you have a purpose to live. Negeen you don't know how much you are helping people. I watch your video every time I feel low. You are serving the humanity. You are living purposefully n you are blessed. N we are blessed to have you. Love you so much ❤️ N yes I m 33 .

Negeen, I watched your video right before I went to bed and couldn’t sleep thinking about you. I am much older than you, but when I was your age I felt that same pressure. So, I got married to someone I thought I loved but looking back I realize my desire to be a couple was stronger than my desire to be complete. As you might guess it was a rocky marriage. It lasted 15 years. One would think I’d learned a lesson from that, but I got married again thinking being a couple was better than being alone. That marriage lasted 15 years as well. At that point in my life I decided to “accept“ being alone. At some point though I learned how to embrace being alone and life became better for me. I could go on and on but I just wanted you to know your story resonates with me. I’m reaching out to give your heart a hug.

I have a sister but she has never been good to me at all, in fact she has hurt me very much and worse she could careless about me so whether you have a boyfriend or not, a husband or not, a sibling or not to quote Mr. Robin Williams, "I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is ending up with people who make you feel all alone." In my life the God of heaven and earth is all I have and because of that I have everything. Thank you Jesus. ♥

Thank you for your video. I feel that being vulnerable with one another is necessary in order to have deep, meaningful connections with people. I appreciated your video and wanted to make sure you knew that it will be a benefit to other people and I am sure yourself. Loneliness is tough and is extremely important to reach out to others and be your own best friend. I have had challenging times up to the age I am and each day thankful for them as the testing times pushed me to grow in weak areas and love myself more and realize humans are natural social human beings so connection with others is extremely important as well as each day staying true to yourself and not listening to the “shoulds” of other people, and getting involved in things and hobbies that bring you joy! It is the simple things in life

When you havent had a chance to socialize with others your age, you cant be expected to know how. I felt lonely at that age. Ive lost my family and Ive grieved at 40 a few weeks ago. Ive come back better. It's taken a while but I stuck at it at church. I hope thats something for you but I understand if it isnt. I have borderline personality disorder. The sense of loneliness was chronic.. even with people. Hang in there. Find something social and stick at it. Please take comfort that it's partly your age. I am still single, never married. Did prolific dating.. urgh!, that takes a degree these days. Don't stress, you've got a good grip on where you are. The rest will come. Just get out and try new things.

Beautiful video and beautiful soul! Going to the movies alone gives me sense of pride. Even while dating, it’s so important to continue dating yourself. I believe it only increases ones confidence. Going out alone can feel unsettling in the moment, but it’s always completely worth it once you get home, kick your feet up, and reflect on the experience you just gave yourself. #NeverAlone ❤

The more you feel lonely, the more lonely you get. Forget a relationship let love comes to you. Enjoy yourself, love yourself and your space, focus on your goals… I understand for females time is ticking and everyone is looking at you lot to get married but the more you think of it and let’s it get to u the more it won’t happen. Idk if this helps, probably doesn’t

Thank you for this video. Ive been feeling lonely for quite some time and feel myself trying to catch up to my peers. I see babies and marriages on Instagram and it just frustrates me, but it’s nice to know I’m not alone. This was very comforting 🤍I’m starting to enjoy my alone time more and I think those people secretly envy those past moments where they had what I currently have. At the end of the day everyone’s problems are internalized and I may not see the full picture on the screen ☺️

All of this is totally relatable and I just turned 37, no kids. And accepting the thought of being and living alone for the rest of my life is becoming more and more real. Life has taken some twisted ass turns and I think just accepting the unexpected has helped be more hopeful and less dreading the future. Also no shame in it lol but my new comfort show is vampire diaries and it just does it for me right now. I just feel like I’ve finally found home within myself, being alone and that fuels me feeling like a bad bitch. Because taking care of yourself is hard work but we’re all here, doing it, the best we can and we all deserve to feel good about that even on the smallest level. #neveralone

#Never Alone 🙏🙏I'm divorced and can relate. It seems all of my so- called friends are married, getting together, play dates etc. I have young adult children and am in grad school. I realized I'm in a different season of my life and everyone is trying to fulfill that traditional lifestyle. That's why I'm on YT!😂 You are doing well and perhaps in a different season. It does feel sad but you got this! Appreciate your vulnerability and sharing.😊 You have to find those individuals that are in similar seasons as yours.
