I live in Washington state and I am was raised in the Port Angeles/Forks area. Twilight was filmed there. It has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world there. The Hoh Rain Forest is breathtaking. People come from all over the world to visit especially in the summer time. What would you like to know specifically? I have lived in Washington my entire life! There is so much to see really.

Hi! That sounds amazing! The Port Angeles and Forks area must be such a unique place to live. I'm curious about what neighborhoods are good and about housing. I have a good idea about the weather. How far is shopping from the area, and how far from a major city? Oh, and if we decide to visit, which we would before moving, are there any hidden gems or local favorites that visitors might only sometimes discover? Okay, that was maybe too much, sorry. @@naturalsimpleliving Forks is a little teeny tiny town and there is little or nothing there. You would have to do all your major shopping in Port Angeles and Sequim. Sequim has the Costco and better whole foods shopping (I think) than Port Angeles. Seqiim has a WONDERFUL place called Sunny Farms right on Highway 101 that sells natural Whole Foods. I always bring a cooler when I go visit and bring my favorite stuff home. Port Angeles is a good hour away from Forks and Sequim is 1-1:2 hours away from Forks. The next major shopping area and probably bigger would be Silverdale and its about 2-1/2 hours away from Forks. You have to go over the Hood canal bridge to go there. As far as housing and stuff I asked my best friend Ruby. She was born and raised in Forks and has had businesses in Forks for years. She owned “Three River Resorts” for 30 years and recently sold it but she still owns the gym in the town of Forks. She is a wonderful person who everyone knows and loves. If you move there I’m sure you will get to know her. She has Air B-n-B in the areas of the Olympic Peninsula and just a fabulous person to know and very helpful. I sent her text asking about the housing and neighborhood’s. She would be able to answer that question better than I would because her entire family is in Forks. I will get back to you on that one. The beauty in Forks is so amazing and people in the area constantly are so appreciative for it but some do grow tired of the constant rain in that area. Once you see the Hoh rain forest there you’ll appreciate that beauty too! My daughter went to parochial school in Port Angeles. I myself graduated high school in Port Angeles. Will you bring your entire family with you? Your children will love it! I’ll be back in touch about the housing. Take Care! Hi Pamela, I asked my friend Ruby about the neighborhood’s and housing in Forks since she is right there. She said housing is tough to find. She and her husband Scott built their home after they found a piece of property and built their home. Like I said she is very knowledgeable about the Forks area being a business owner and being born and raised in the area. To me Forks is such a small teeny tiny town out in the middle of nowhere. I found out today that the nearest Trader Joes is 2-1/2 hours away in the town of Silverdale. That is one of the places you have to go to and shop. I can put you in touch with some of the nicest people you will ever meet and know that would be excellent resources for you. Are you moving there for sure?

Hi! Aw, thank you! It's sometimes not easy; we always guess before we go through the line, I thought about bringing a calculator with me and plugging numbers in while I walk through. I did that many years ago, and I'm thinking that would help with all the prices going up and changing so much. My littles would wear fancy dresses every day of the week. I lived in Washington and the weather is rain 9 months out of the year especially on the west side of the state. Doctors prescribe vitamin D because it is so grey most of the year. I lived there for 8 years and I moved to the desert so I could dry out. Very very busy if you get close to the Seattle area. Crazy drivers they don’t know how to drive in the snow. Our first winter there it snowed 6 inches and they closed the schools for a week and a half. People were leaving the cars parked on the freeway it was crazy. We moved there from Michigan so we were just stunned. It is very beautiful in the summer but gloomy fall winter and spring

If my kids ask for something and I know all the lunchboxes and snacks are gone, I am usually okay with it because we live over an hour away. @@naturalsimpleliving in Washington you have to have a certified professional oversee the school, in Oregon you test in 3,5, 8 and 10… I would stay away come the Portland metro/Salem/ Eugene area, very, very liberal, bad crime rates etc.. central eAsten part where I live is better, only a few costcos in the state, most are in the libreal metro areas, one is in Bend which is central Oregon, and the other closest one would be Bosie Idaho if you did eastern state, no Aldi at all, but have Kroger, Safeway and Trader Joe’s…. Not sure what your husbands work is if he can live anywhere or needs to be close to somewhere, I highly recommend madras area, it’s country but about 30 minutes or so to Bend that has Costco and Trader Joe’s and 15-20 minutes to Redmond that has other bigger stores, Walmart, Home Depot, Kroger etc

Washington is a pain. Have to have a certified teacher, test yearly, do required subjects, notify etc.. Oregon you notify once and rest 3, 5, 8 and 10.. stay away from western Oregon, very, very, very liberal.. recommend central Oregon the most madras/ Redmond area
