I'm glad that you used that chart instead of a kcal one!
@PetFoodPuzzleGuy26 күн бұрын
Kcals are still the ultimate most accurate but most companies can't provide such numbers.
@babygrlsky200826 күн бұрын
@PetFoodPuzzleGuy some of the ones I have called send Kcals, and since I only know the percentages, I request they send in percentages. I do not have a chart for calcium and phosphorus for Kcals, of what they should be. (or fat, protein, carbs.)

Hi Glenn love your videos can you do a review on eden holistic food for dogs it's a UK privately owned company am using this food and just want your opinion thanks Esra
@Dannielle_LolaАй бұрын
Thanks for adding the canned food in there. Interesting that the calcium and phosphorus is lower. Canned food gets vilified a lot for apparently no reason. I use both canned and dry… hills of course 😉 Ohh looking forward to your Christmas lights video, I’ve been lazy this year and haven’t even thought about the tree until now 😂 Although we are in the middle of a heatwave here so I’m going to use that as a excuse LOL 🙃

Very interesting and thanks again for a great video! Iams still beats this one out on the vitamin and mineral content. I've been using the small bred formula which has 27% protein, 1.1% calcium and 0.85% phosphorus.

Hi Glenn! Happy holidays! Question, since most brands list only minimums for nutrients, would that mean that the dog may eat more than the minimum? And is there a way to figure out the maximum from the label? I am asking because if we use minimum I am unsure if we are saying these are the minimum (baseline) nutrients received but could be more? Also thank you and Doc Rea and there was another vet on youtube as well, I wish I found or learned more sooner! Please keep up the good work! And thank you in advance for the response :) Oh also Blue Buffalo just launched a new line called True Solutions which they state is formulated by vets and PhD animal nutrionists

Sorry for the delay. Dr Rea and I use the actual dry matter percentage because the minimums on the bag tell us really nothing. Haven't looked at the new Blue diets but I really don't trust them much.

Love your videos! I am interested in learning more about nutritional needs for small dogs. How do their needs differ from medium and large sized dogs? If you are looking for new video ideas I think that would be a cool one.

Hills just built a 22 million dollar facility called Small Paws, dedicated to small breed nutrition so I am certain there will be new insights from there! Thanks!

Thanks for the review! I had looked at that brand but the high cal/phos levels were way to high for a Dane puppy. Please review Eukaunuba large breed puppy when you can. I know you get a lot of requests
@PetFoodPuzzleGuy26 күн бұрын
I'll try but I would trust their levels, but honestly haven't looked. The Iams Adult is better than the Elk Adult!
@natlinhurst68725 күн бұрын
@PetFoodPuzzleGuy interesting. I keep reading stay away from the Eukanuba adult. I will be looking at iams when we get past the puppy stage.
@natlinhurst68723 күн бұрын
I am wondering why the Eukanuba adult is not a good choice. Comparing the ingredients to iams large breed adult the Eukanuba looks better. What am I missing, I thought I was getting better at reading levels 😊
@PetFoodPuzzleGuy23 күн бұрын
@ I am not comparing the total brands to each other. There could be individual diets that have better nutrient levels than others. And remember, don’t use the ingredient panel to judge.

Can you review Dr. Marty Nature's Blend dog food ?
@JoyFarmGoatsАй бұрын
Having fed this brand before I knew better, I can attest to the issues an imbalanced diet can cause and too high in nutrients… I had also talked with Scott Freeman and he told me if I fed their raw diet all my dogs issues would go away… and the lack of moisture in their kibble was the issue 🙃

Hi there can you please tell me something about Hills Derm dog food. My dog has terrible allergies and our vet recommended this food instead of Apoquel or injections. Could find in your videos sorry.
Hey Glen! What happened to some of your recent videos commenting on other KZbin videos (BK pets, Becker, Morgan etc). I can't seem to find them and was going to share with a friend

Look at the zinc and compare it to dry matter requirements per AAFCO. AAFCO min adult dogs 80mg/kg, puppy 100 mg/kg. The “original” chicken is 72.8mg/kg. The diet cannot be labeled as “formulated to AAFCO” because it doesn’t meet minimum standards.
