200/300 dollars is cheap for you...???!!!!....Man...!!!.....I bought mine new for 70 and it's working great,speared a few 25 kg GT (Carrangues)in the French-Guyana,and they were not lucky shots!!!!!,found also one in a garage sale for 40,got new line on it,sharpened the spear, and it works great........I go to garage sales also for rods and fishing gear of all kind and you'll be surprised the great deals you can make......Cheers....!!!!!

I live in France(BIARRITZ)Atlantic ocean,I bought my first spear gun in a store called:Decatlon,sporting goods all over FRANCE at a very low price,if you go to a small specialized fishing store,you will pay any gear,three times the price...!!!..Do you live in Europe or US..???Mine is a Aimrite 110,but threw the net in your region,I am sure,that on the net,you'll find someone who sells a gun for a descent price,sometimes the person will give you,even,extra gear for the same price....!!!!...I'm into bow-fishing too,and got the main piece for 80 euros,without the reel,line and arrows,the same brand/piece was selling for 210 in a local small store....!!!!...Same for drones and RC toys.;;)Search on the net for a guy that sells his gear for a low price.

@@flipspearing I have the same pathos gun since 2012, the best gun I ever had never had an single issue, RA trigger mechanism fails when the gun falls and get hit from the handle. Had problems with the reel (the pear shape reel handle one) that incident almost cost my life so in terms of design and built quality I seriously doubt pathos can be inferior, maybe factory manufacturing but can't tell about it, my gun has never failed to me.

Rob Allen calls them rail guns but they pipe guns... the inventor of rail guns is wrong he invented a pipe gun with a ummmm....a rail....oh yeah right ummm... Guys in here shoot 160 kg marlins on that Rob Allen non-rail, rail pipe gun.
