With my character at 10 dexterity 9/10 of my shots are missing and only doing 2-3 damage. Take me a whole day.

You can turn on weighted dice to stop yourself from failing to many times in a row. Make sure to sneak before every shot to give yourself advantage. And lastly if you have spells you can use the cantrips acid splash or eldritch blast to do more damage on average since the cambions aren't resistant to those 2 damage types. Fair warning though if you use eldritch blast there is a small chance for you to give the cambions the fear condition which will drag you into combat. You'll have to reset to a previous save if that happens

There’s three big chests on the ship you can use- I stacked two to block the room w/ the big fight and one w/ the smaller chest to block Shadowheart’s pod room. I was able to kill both Cambions before rejoining the fight. Thanks so much!

If you click on the spells tab on shadowheart you'll be able to swap any of her 1st level spells with any other 1st level spell Wizards, sorcerer's, warlocks, and bards, can only swap to spells they have learned where as clerics, druids, and paladins have access to every spell in their class spell list.

For me, letting the game decide where to stand with the crossbow kept dragging me into the fight- but I ended up being able to use the attack preview's silhouette as a marker and moved myself *just* behind it, and it let me fire the crossbow without triggering the combat. I was also able to crouch between shots to improve my accuracy by hiding.

Just did this in honor mode on Patch 5! If you are having trouble make sure your ranged character is crouched on that little spine in the middle of the room leading to the stairs. When i was just a foot right of it, i got brought into combat. The second one is definitely a harder angle to get. I had to be on the second stair on the left side of the staircase. NOTE: There are multiple places to click on the cambion so you need to play with the angles to get the right shot. It will show where your person will move to and if its no closer than the second stair you should be good. Good Luck!

applying status effects puts you in the fight. so if you are playing a great one warlock be careful using them for the 2 cambians as any crits will frighten and pull you into the fight

Figured out I had to drop one chest sideways in the tunnel where you said and then one at the next tunnel entrance to catch one Cambion before the main boss room. Thank you so much for this video, that cambrian trick makes such a difference. I do want to warn people that if you engage with the crossbow guy and then decide it's going to take too long so you save for another session, when you load it back up the crossbow guy will be in combat regardless of whether you did the trick right or not. so make sure to have a save BEFORE the crossbow guy attacks the cambrian.

Update as of 2/13/2024 still works, in addition I main wizard so i tried this out on my wizard and had abysmal chance to hit; so i tried firebolt and it works just as well as the crossbows for the first one but not the second one, so be careful of that

Tried this in Honour Mode - still works. Just be careful about Tavs placement (or whomever you use to snipe the 2 cambions). Depending on where you are and where you aim at he might run too close to the cambions, which enables combat. Took me 15 minutes of crossbow sniping, but didnt use sneak, so this could have been pretty much double as fast. Played Tav as a Fighter with 16 Dex and Archery just for this. Going for a respec afterwards. Had like 6 rounds left. Didnt find a Haste-Potion, which can supercharge half your team + mindflayer to make things even easier. Didnt use any Magic Hand + Throwing Void Bulb shenanigans. Managed to disarm Zhalk on the first try, though. He double hitted the flayer before I managed to disarm him. Flayer hit both stuns. (I blessed him) So I guess luck-wise it was in the middle of the spectrum. Still easy doable. Edit: I didnt use any chest-blocking strats.

It's still working for me. I'm playing on PC so maybe that has something to do with it but this video is consistently my most viewed on a day to day basis and you are the first to have issues for a while. it might be that the character that your leaving behind is to close to the door to the boss arena. I always leave my character at the healing station that's in the same room as shadow heart's pod. I always put that character to sneak as well although i've never actually tested if that is mandatory. hopefully this helps

Didn’t work for me too. I tried this yesterday and my char entered combat no matter of the position. I also had several playthroughs earlier and this method always worked fine. So no free lvl 2 on Nautiloid anymore 😄

Avatar in healing room, enter with shadowheart all party ported into the main room and trying to leave got an automatic game over. @@SReaperX you can, just don't use the great old one subclass if you're playing honor mode. The great old one causes creatures to role wis saves every time they crit to save from fear. For some reason whenever the cambions get feared they'll drag you into combat. If you're not in honor mode, save frequently. The best spell to use for this though is level 1 witch bolt since you don't need to keep rolling to hit.

Awesome video - this should be the blueprint for playthroughs! I'm following everything fine until just before the main fight. When I get my main character to hide in the chamber where the cambions spawn and then send Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Us through the sphincter for some reason my character's thumbnail appears on the turn list at the top of the screen and to continue I have to end turn every time when it's his turn. I noticed that on your video at approx 2.47 onwards your main character doesn't appear in that initiative queue. I've tried everything I can think of to prevent him being included but can't work it out. I'm sure it's something simple but I'm new to BG3 and it's a bit of a steep learning curve. It would be great if someone can help.

you shouldn't hide in the chamber just before the boss fight, that's to close and you'll be dragged into combat. you have to hide next to the healing thing in the room where you get shadow heart in order to avoid combat. If it's still not working try getting further back. once the extra cambions show up be sure to stay at least 30ft from them or else you'll be dragged into the fight. the esiest way to do that is to just aim at them with a cross bow or spell that has a range of 30ft from further than 30ft away and your character will automatically move the perfect distance on their own. I'd save after each step just to make sure you don't have to start all over incase you accidentally move to close to the cambions. I hope this helped.

Hey I just checked to see if it works and it's still working for my game. although while using a warlock there is a small chance to give the fear condition which will automatically draws you into combat. when I reloaded the game after fearing the cambions it seemed to auto place me in combat from the load despite saving before fearing the cambion. other than that the exploit seems to be working identically to what it did during launch. I hope this helps

@@scammer7640 I assume it's the second cambion. hitting it without moving can be a little tricky, I angle the camera so I can see my character while aiming that way I can make sure that the character won't move when I attack. you know that your character will move if there silhouette shows up while your aiming. drag the mouse over the cambion until you find a spot where your silhouette doesn't show that way you know you won't move

so i tried using without using the chests as you said they arent useful...problem is the devils start moving immediately and go out of visual range and into the control room where im not ale to see them unless i get dragged into the fight...so are the chests actually needed even though you said they have no affect?

the chests are not needed. if the cambions start moving that means it's there turn. To fix this: when the two extra cambions enter combat it always skips there first turn. So when it comes to your turn for the character you have in combat don't click end turn. just swap to the character you left outside combat and shoot them from there since it's technically still your turn the cambions can't do anything, and you get to shoot them as much as you want since that character isn't in combat with them. I've been seeing nothing but comments saying it works on console. but there are things that make it not work, like trying to snipe the second cambion with a short character. because the angle is already really difficult the shorter characters have an even harder time. what exactly wasn't working and maybe i can diagnose the problem for the next person.

@@ItsJustGravesok so i just tested it on pc and it still works as it did before. are you leaving a party member hiding by the restoration station? that will leave one party member outside of combat. when the 2 cambions show up shoot at the first one from outside the normal range that way your character will move up to the cambion on its own to be in the perfect range that doesn't get them caught up in battle.

It's so confusing how you say you can only catch ONE of the cambions by placing 2 chests where they spawn yet before that you were showing the footage of BOTH of them getting stuck and then slowly killed by your crossbowman.

they were stuck because they were in turn based mode, not from the chests. the character shooting them wasn't in combat with them so they could move freely. the chests aren't necessary but they do give you a better angle to shoot them from

the chests don't matter they're just apart of a different exploit i found while testing things out. I explain that here 1:40. basically all you can do with the chest is trap 1 cambion if your not going to kill them from outside combat. i kept it in the video because it can make the cambions spawn in a different location that's easier to snipe them from and for the sake of sharing glitches and exploits that might come in handy in the future.

As someone who likes playing around with beating this fight (one of the few really hard fights in the game as far as I've come) I must say. This video is awesome, and tbh deserves a lot more views...! Even if they patched this out now (going from other comments), this is still very nifty 🙂 Nice clean commentary, a lot better editing than i can handle, and a good unique (cheesy) plan. The Point with extra shield and armor from Laezel and Shadowheart is awesome as well! NB: But please don't cut off THE last note of the melody :-P That ending is abrupt

@TheJreesing I'm not sure and I can't run tests since I don't own a console. I don't know why the devs would increase the range of the combat zone on consoles but it's possible. If I were testing things out I'd start by trying to hide in a fog cloud spell while my followers start the fight. Or other things like that just to make sure I'm not getting spotted. If it's still not working then I'd try to break the games logic. I'd wait to recruit us until after I'd gotten lazel and shadow heart. Then before sending those two into the fight I'd start the conversation tree with us. I'd switch characters while in the convo just to see what would happen when I start the fight. If none of that works then it probably can't be broken on console. But I'm sure someone else, who knows console better than me, could still find a way.

she does. clerics can swap to any spell in the cleric spell list so long as its at a level they can cast. unlike wizards warlocks and sorcerers who need need to learn spells at leveling up. to swap your spells you can press 'i' to go into that characters inventory then at the top of that screen you'll see a book and quill icon. click that to go to the screen that allows you to choose your spells. hopefully this helped

it still works i just tested it. at first it wasnt working when i shot the first backup cambion. my character would run to close and get caught up in the battle. you need to fire a shot on the floor between the legs of the first cambion without hitting him. when you do that your character will move on their own to the perfect distance away. from then on you can shoot the cambion without being dragged into the fight. Hope this helped

Not sure what the problem would have been. the cambions always start by skipping their first turn. so unless you manually end your turn no one should be able to move.@@Endarire

Question on light crossbow vs spells (and the angle you mentioned): What is it about the angle that makes it tricky? Because I'm noticing that spells like Fire bolt or Eldritch Blast are the same range as a light crossbow.

so when i was testing things out with out the chests being there the spells wouldnt hit the second cambion for me because of the shape of the wall. spells go in a straight line from point a to point b but bows and crossbows have an arc that goes up and then down to hit there targets. the arc of the bow shots made it so the bolts went over a peice of the wall that was blocking the spells. Hopefully that cleared things up

This looks patched out now. If you get remotely close to the cambions, you enter turn based combat. I'm talking about even if you're in the other room and well out of fly range.

Ok... A few things to note here. 1st. I made a tutorial video about the game, I don't do the refunds, sorry, I can look into it for you I guess but I probably won't. 2nd. I understand that the game has many difficult parts that test the player in extreme ways but these sections are rarely mandatory and can be pretty much ignored or circumvented in most cases. the npcs explicitly tell you to Ignore the boss and just get to the transponder at the end of the room to escape. 3rd. I don't watch game awards but on a quick google search Baldur's gate 3 only won Best RPG, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Community Support, and the Player's Choice category. none of these categories imply that this game is for everyone and I don't think anyone is arguing that it's perfect or anything. these awards only imply that the game is good at allowing its players to role play, the game is designed and balanced for multiple player characters, and that it had a kickstarter/early access campaign. Also a lot of people did enjoy it for that last award but who cares. right? your not those people your you. there are many things I like about Baldur's gate 3 but I'll be the first one to point out it's not a flawless masterpiece. it's a glitchy mess that allows for many exploits like the ones seen in this very video. it crashes on me regularly and turns my computer into a heater but i can look past this stuff. I'm sorry you can't and I hope you get your refund as well as find a game you can enjoy in your free time.

It's not a fight you're intended to win. all the npc's tell you to "escape to the transponder" But if you do manage to get lucky on roles then you can get an achievement. I just found this cheese so I could consistently start the game at a higher level and better equipment.

You never explained how you stopped the 2 Cambion reinforcements from joining the fight. I've been able to stop them for one round by stacking three chests up on the "anus door" before the last room but they always manage to fly over it a turn later...So since you didn't explain how to stop the 2 Cambions from joining the battle in the first place, I guess my question is how are you able get it into position to shoot it?

so they aren't technically stopped their just in turn based mode. for what ever reason as long as you don't get to close you can shoot them with out entering the turned based combat. if you select your crossbow and click on the cambion to attack your character will automatically move into position to do this. also press c to hide between every shot to double your percentage chance of hitting. the chest thing was just a bonus glitch i found and couldn't find a use for but i still thought it was interesting enough to put in the video. sorry for the confusion

@@RoseKnight Thanks for the follow up response. I finally got it figured out. I ended up not wanting to take the time to kill the 2 cambions, so I ended up using the 3-4 chests I found to block their entrance to the fight. I was able to just legit kill Zhark and Squidward with my party. Had just enough time to loot everything and get out. The 2 Cambions managed to fly over my barricade but I ended up dodging the 2 fireblasts they sent my way and making out with good XP and all the loot from the last room. Screw those 2 Cambions lol they can go down with the ship. I think I got an achievement for killing Zhark too! Thanks.

the positioning isn't to hard i usually just center myself on a piece of texture on the floor that looks like a line, it's going toward the door with them cambion in it. once im on that i select my crossbow and fire. your character will move on their own to get into position from there. once your in position you can just press the alt key to go into attack mode and keep firing. for the second one i just get on the stairs before the door, on the second step on the left side if your looking at the door. and second verse same as the first fire until they're dead. you always want to press the c key before attacking as well cause it puts you in sneak mode which gives you advantage on attacks.
