Please know I am trying to help... Depression comes from trying to live up to standards that weren't meant for you. If they were, you would be on the same page as others. You're putting unnecessary pressure on yourself to conform when you're meant to stand as an individual. It takes courage, but it's better than being someone you're not. The standards are not realistic. Most are faking it anyway and dying inside. I hope that you learn to let go and live in YOUR truth.

Others “looking down” on you is their business. Let them. Action is the best cure for depression. You said it…you are working through it…that is action. Walk toward your dream. The fog will clear. A small step any time you are able, and the gift of grace those times when you cannot. 🌹

@@BognaZone I know you don't feel like it when you are depressed but try to work out everyday. Work up a sweat. As high an intensity as you can manage. That has two benefits.. one is the obvious physical benefits, but more importantly the serotonin your body makes is important to lift your mood. I was clinically depressed and after a year of really heavy meds I got sick of the pharma treadmill. I began to wean myself off the pills, one at a time, and forced myself to go for walks fir 10 minutes, then 15 then 20 and finally 1 hour. It took a over a year and a half but I got off those pills and out of the committee to hospital circle..though I did move 1000 kilometres to get away. Im not a fan of drugs or therapists and talking about myself. You can do it

People don't always act infantile -- whining to others about their misgivings while not taking action -- when procrastinating and attempting to follow through. Sometimes it's just a perspective we struggle to work past, and we're trying everything we know. But, I have been trying since middle school (24 now) to curb this behavior. If anybody has any non-mainstream tips, I'd be grateful. None of the mainstream so-called "solutions" work: not discipline, not ignoring my feelings, not rewarding myself, not ✨thinking positively✨, not "just do it." And, motivation is a finite source. Learning to enjoy the process is the closest thing I have found to a solution, but I have no clue how to go about that, especially when every facet of life that that can be applied to is so different.

Again a good lesson. The real difficulty today is to withstand the diversions and distraction of modern media. Another obstacle is to overcome the fear of change and failure. Change will happen anyway, so it is better to self create a positive change. Failure is sometimes necessary in life to learn important life lessons to grow. The mature adult mentality includes acceptance for all, what belongs to life and making the best of it.

Once someone said, "Even if it's going to take 6 months, 6 months will pass either way... So just do it." I was told that 10 years ago... Yet I'm still a terrible procrastinator. And a starter of projects without finishing. :/ I've started noticing my anxiety isn't because of what I'm doing... it's because of what I'm NOT doing, but know I need to do! I get anxious about all the things I need to do to catch up, just to keep up... let alone deal with what's ahead. Procrastinating is a terrible habit at nearly 40 years old. And it may possibly be exacerbated by a head injury I received at 18 (and tied to the executive functions in my brain). But I hope the wisdom in this video will help me change my ways! In the west, we are brainwashed to be "productive" and not to "procrastinate" with the ultimate goal of just molding us to be obedient workers for somebody. But this gives much deeper meaning. It's about your growth as a person on emotional and intellectual level, and also as a part of society and effect on your family. And also, what I like very much, getting rid of unhealthy childish emotional attention-seeking patterns. There is deeper reason why western society tried to eliminate all these wise traditions that knew these things, and were living much healthier lifestyle.
