Hi Matthew. Your poor baby. Sorry you had a hard time starting. I recommend using a light weight oil something along the lines of 0W40 or 5W40 full synthetic. Also i dont know if you know but when the glow plug light goes out after 3 seconds. Your glow plugs are still heating up it actually takes 30-40 seconds you will hear a relay click once the plugs are red hot. I wait untill my glow plug relay clicks then starts. Atleast i know the cylinder has a bit of heat in it to ignite the diesel. Other than that change your glow plugs if you haven't done so and as you know change your diesel filter. I also recommend to get a diesel water seperator

At -7 it should start straight up might be an idea to get it checked out, probably a glow plug fault !

get a new battery and put premium diesel in it in the winter, mine started first key at -19C

5W40 Amsoil full synthetic. New battery and Premium diesel. You should be good to go.

No Idea, dont have the car anymore. It certainly did leak diesel everywhere. It was a 2010 Thai built from memory.

Remove cam angle sensor plug .timing chain is stretched .

Even though I put in alpine diesel, I think the fuel in the filter may have frozen. So yeah, wasn't getting fuel.

What head unit have you got? I use the torque app on my phone and it would be very handy to have that on the head unit

just look on ebay for "android head unit" Choose one with at least a quad core and plenty of storage space. I was also using this to display the torque app with a bluetooth to OBD adapter.

Why do people do that glow plug and keep cranking. Not sure on cars but heavy equipment you can.....glow plug it and crank it ...then glow plug it again and crack it as meny times as you need to diesels need heat to start up usually you have to turn the key. Right off then on and the glow plug light should come back on

Notice after glow plugging it the first time it tried to start then nothing .....new starter soon buddy😊

No manual control of glow plugs on this car, it glows when you turn on ignition once. Thats why i cycled ignition a couple of times, to try get it to glow again.

@@JesusChrist-es8pr No issues with the starter, There was actually diesel all over the place under the hood when I later checked it, so had an issue with one of the lines to the pump which only became an issue in the cold.

rubbish......-7c should start instantly. that's what happens when Renault starts to interfere with Nissan.... Nissan used to be one of the best diesel

Yeah I wasn't particularly impressed. However there was a Hilux suffering from identical issues as my Navara. I think its more to do with common rail diesels being far more precious than old mechanical injection systems.

Not needed in Australia, I was asking for trouble parking it at the top of the mountain. It almost never gets even close to 0*C even in winter, so for 99% of Australia it would be pointless.

Just under the door open light, Its automatic, so it only glowed once.

@@matthewwijsma9978 Missed that; it should stay on for several seconds then at first key position. If it's going out quickly either there is a faulty pre heat time controller, incorrect temperature sensor fooling it that the engine is hot or faulty glowplug/s? I had similar issues on a Berlingo HDI.

Not when trying to start the car in this video, I think the fuel filter had started to freeze which is why it was hard to start. Been a pretty good car other than having to do the timing chain, which is a known weak point of the YD25.
