I am using super fan past 1.5 years . no issues faced. Also you need to consider the heat generation by AC fans. BLDC fan wont generate HEAT and that itself great advantage during hot summer session.

If you are in chennai then BLDC fan is very much helpful. Because during rainy season, we will not have power suply for 4 to 5 days.... Our only option is inveter battery supply. Normal fan takes more power almost double from battery say 75watts. But BLDC fan max wattage is 35watts, if you rin on medium speed say 3 or 4 inly 20watts usage. During power failure time, BLDC fans are very helpful.

You have valid points. But normal fan at low voltage gives very less speed. We don't keep fan in full speed all the time, Bldc fans consume very very less at lower speed. The lightning issue true, atomberg fan board got damaged, I changed the board with the board from the conversion kit, it is working very good.(conversion kit board also has 12v option, in future we can use it). Crompton bldc fan started making noise after 2 months, opened the fan and saw the magnet ring was not fixed properly. Poor quality making.

I bought two super fans in 2013. It worked well for 7 years. One fan developed problems and I am unable to service it due to no service center or mechanic familiar with BLDC technology. Contacted the company and got spare board freely. I fixed it myself. But the maximum speed struck at 4th point. Now the second fan after shifting the house gives trouble. (After 10 yrs) It may not reach the top speed and works up to 4th point only. Being a decade old technology BLDC fans need to rectify these issues. Otherwise we have to depend on time tested old model fans.

Sir Your facts are really good to think practical implementation of use of ceiling fan in our house . In my case I purchase Bajaj make , 3 BLDC ceiling fans with a warranty of 2 years . In one fan after 27 months fan not working , after making online complaint to Bajaj , their service person by just seeing the fan told that the PCB board needs to be changed , for which it cost Rs.2000/- . But the fan cost is Rs.3000/- within 27 months , again I need to spend Rs. 2000/- to run the fan by changing PCB board. It seem to be foolish to spent for Rs.2000/- again. Hence I decided to scrap the BLDC fan and by with New normal fan with Rs.1200 to 1400/-. Earlier purchased normal fans are in use about 15 in nos. Giving more the 20 years service still working at minimum service cost of max Rs.100/- in a 8 to 10 years continuous in our house use of normal ceiling fan.

This is really shocking. No fan company is displaying the cost of the spare parts and those spare parts are not easy to obtain. Buying a regular fan and putting the balance difference amount into solar is the best method ever.

Solar- Battery-Grid: When Solar is available if your load is lesser than the solar production your load will run thru solar also your batteries will be charging thru solar. When solar production equal to the load, your load runs thru solar, your batteries won't be charged. If your load is higher than the solar production, your load will run thru solar+batteries. If your batteries reach DOD then your load will shift to Grid and your batteries will be charging thru solar. Here to save the money disable grid charging option. Solar- Grid-Battery: When Solar is available if your load is lesser than the solar production your load will run thru solar also your batteries will be charging thru solar. When solar production equal to the load, your load runs thru solar, your batteries won't be charged. If your load is higher than the solar production, your load will run thru Grid. Here it won't discharge your batteries , it will keep for back up in case solar and grid don't available. If you are living in city go for solar-battery- grid to save money. If you need always your batteries should be fully charged for backup purpose then go for solar-grid-battery.

What about SMU? From where you are getting money for that? Only one fan will run on a single 150ah inverter battery whole night. Buying bldc fan will have 2 major benifits 1) if fan running hours are more, and we need 24*7 fan then we can run 3 bldc fans at the same power consumption of a single normal fan. So we can use 3 fans at whole night instead of a 1 fan whole night. 2) if fan running hours are more,the normal fans will consume too much of electricity.

i bought super fan when i was in chennai. when i came to pondicherry they told service not aviliable. Then after 1 month of continous call later somehow i got person to do the repair.. so after service in big cities or making place is fine. But for tier 2 places service is not good. Second all the issues happened is with the board as Naveen told .so if there is any small surge then board is gone and you have to go through above process if you are not in tier 1 cities. I feel fan of more use can be of BLDC fan and fan of less usage can be normal fan because you save the amount in this balanced manner. if you have invertor and solar pannel then as naveen said we have to think.. if no invertor and no solar pannel then better to take the above balance approach i feel. Naveen.. please share the Delihi model fan or where to get.

the delhi bldc fan had no controller inside it. so what ever service is needed, its done out side the fan. secondly, even when the controller fails, the fan will just run with the right voltage. which means, with or without pcb, it works, also reduces e-waste.

Even if u switch off the MCB lightening is spoil your electrical equipments,bcz high voltage can jump one MCB terminal to another terminal so best way is removing the Output terminal of the MCB.

Nice info. However the reason to go for LED Bulbs and BLDC fan should be to run the fan load for maximum hrs through Inverter during power cuts... Cost savings in such DC products shall be achieved only if you use them over 5-10yrs period. Same for Solar Panel as well, you will need more than 5yrs to get back ROI. Also I see that you are particularly side lining 'Super Fan' brand and not sure why. As many mentioned 3/5 super fans fail during the warranty period but they replace the board which fixes the problem permanently. Also when you mention that you were able to source the BLDC fans for ₹1000 then I think you would also need to help us with the source ... else better you dont mention that in the video until you were able to show us a source for 1K BLDC.. Overall your videos have been 'WOW''.. Keep going mate!!

Its ok for the fans to have some problems, when the company don't show any interest in fixing the issue, then it raises the concern. For fixing a fan issue, if the company takes more than 3 weeks, its alarming. If this is the scenario during warranty period, its most likely to have problems after the warranty period it needs 700 for a repair and its no way effective.

In my cousin's house, he is using 2 super fan. one fan got board problem due to power fluctauation in his area. but the same repaired in warranty within two days at free of cost. Customerservice person is also polite and quite supportive.

I am a layman and a Senior Citizen aged 73. I saw one video in KZbin of Syed who took into consideration the cost of ordinary fan and BLDC fan (Engineering Fact Channel). He recommended the fan of Coimbatore manufacturer of Superfans with 5 year warranty. They don’t have service people located in Bangalore for installation of their fan. I After seeing your video of BLDC and your recommendation to one of your friend who did not get service for almost 3 months. You took up the matter on his behalf and finally they solved the issue. You meant the same company as I am referring. I have second idea not to go for it. You may suggest your view for me as who gives good service. Please reply.

Good evening sir. Thanks for your valuable time to reach out to me. Yes I am referring the same fan brand. This company has a huge potential but there was some problem in the service which caused delays and wasted a lot of time. I then took the step to fix this once and for all and made this video. After that I went straight to the company and pointed the pain points to the director. They are very promising and the service has improved from then on. I hope you will get a better service now, if not you can reach the higher management if in case you are facing any issues. Hope this helps. Thank you again.

Bought Atomberg ceiling fan for 3500, within 4 months, got a noise in the motor. When contacted the customer they sent a new motor through courier but asked me to get it installed with a local technician. But after escalating the issue, they sent a technician and replaced the motor. Now it is running fine, but not sure how long it lasts...

Normal fan is more reliable for 10 to 20 years. Unreliable fans can lead to electronic waste.

Simple, rent house they not allowed to fit solar panel …own house they fit …so,comparing price of own house and rent house ….rent house is better and BLDC fan is also better…..if your bldc fan connect ups line it wont affect …im using superfan for 3 yrs still im not facing the issue …and i have get my invest money on fan in 2.5 years ..

Big mistake in your calculation: You have to add battery and inverter charges for storing the extra power needed for normal fans!
