When layering Kicks remember to check the phase of both (or multiple) kicks!!!
@Efeamuge25 күн бұрын
What does this mean, please?
@BBJACKSTIK24 күн бұрын
@@Efeamuge Because kicks holds low frequency information the wave length of each kick are longer. Look at the visual difference between a hi-hat and a kick. The wave length of the hi-hat is more cramped while the kick is longer. Great! Now here is the thing! A sound wave of any sample you put into your DAW has a positive value (the part of the wave that goes up) and a negative value (the part of the wave that goes down). If you layer two kicks where the value of the each kick are opposite of each other the positive and negative values will cancel each other out and therefor the punch will disappear. Here is a simple and great way to understand this better. Take a Kick into your DAW. Take the same kick and layer it with itself. Flip the polarity of one of the kicks. In FL studio there's an option that says "REVERSE POLARITY". If done correctly you will have cancelled the Kick with itself and no sound should come out of your DAW. Respond if this was informative!
