That's the last trip of train!! They will make it an elevated train system!! And they will make an elevated rail up to the northern and southern provinces!! The PNR train will become elevated. It will start from Laguna then to Manila and then to Clark airport and to NCC. You can land in Clark and go to Manila and vice-versa by train.

Mighty brave of you guys to go out and take public transportation under the sun. I wouldn't stay outside long since I'd probably know where the nearby shopping mall would be, either a Robinson's or an SM, to cool down. I often do this in Cubao, where you walk from one mall to another, all the way to the Metro Rail Transit.

Food prices depend on where they are located. You have to consider that they pay rental and permits. In malls, a standard small cup (half the size of that cup) costs around P65 to 70. The minimum jeepney fare is P13. 11 pesos is for students, PWDs, and senior citizens.

That is actually Metro Manila (formally, the NCR). It appears you were mostly in Taguig (FTI complex area) at the first part and then Tutuban PNR station (in the real Manila City) later. "Metro Manila" is the region. "Manila" is just one of many cities in it. About half of the cities here are bigger than Manila. While we do appreciate your effort braving the heat and promoting life here in PHL, please do it properly by naming your locations correctly. 15:06 Yes, I can imagine how annoying the constant honking it. But you are correct that it's to ensure the squatters living at the side of the rail will clear the path. It was much worse before because there were far more squatters there and it became regular news that someone gets run over. As the saying goes, safety precautions were first written with blood. 18:50 Having security inspection at the entrance of most (all?) buildings is perhaps among the most culture shocking for foreigners. We actually did not have those long ago. It only started ~20 years ago when Metro Manila became target of terrorists linked to the Al Qaeda (they hated us for being allied with the US). Intelligence revealed they will target populous areas like public buses, malls and movie houses and thus, security inspection was put in place. It became standard since then.

I believe the brand new trains, aside and because they’ll be elevated, it’ll be running at 110km/hr with much less honking. Congratulations for taking that “historic” ride. The last one for now. I love trains. You rode an old version of the old system (if you know what I mean). There is a 2-3yr old train that looks a “wee” bit prettier.

- Minimum jeepney fare is P13. - There are cameras in the PNR station because PNR is in the news lately due to its halting of operations in most routes to give way to restoring long-distance travel from Calamba (Laguna) to Legazpi (Albay). - Did you notice some of the Pinoys wearing thick sweatshirts and jackets in 38 degree heat? and speaking of heat... - Drinking hot coffee in this heat?
