I have to say, I grew up Christian, but have grown so far from God in my 20s. I'm surrounded by people that think being religious is bad. Anyways, I just want to say I've really enjoyed the podcast and appreciate how faith centered you are. It's really nice to hear and be influenced by.

You should have seen me today chatting to my husband about how overwhelmed I was by the season we’re in. 😝😝😂 God’s perfect timing with you guys releasing this episode! Thank you for recording it in spite of your feelings… I feel seen and heard and not alone ❤️🙏🏼

Wow this is definitely one of my favorite episodes now! Also, we have found that having one night where we allow ourselves to watch KZbin videos as Elisha was referring to, has helped and then the other nights we know we need to get to bed sooner! Love all this wisdom and practical advice.

*and also, when I’m feeling super behind in housework it has helped in to have a housekeeper come once a month to kinda reset things, and then it’s eSier to manage. And also having my husband take kids out for a few hours while I deep clean by myself has also helped SO much.

My husband and i did the exact same thing before we started our family... I started consulting while i was finishing my masters degree and ever since, we have never relied on my income. Its always a bonus something we use to develop our property. Having the pressure off has been immensely helpful while ive had 4 kids in 4 years. That said though, in the summers i have used a part time nanny for a few hours a couple days a week, #1 just to get a break so I can be a more engaged mom and #2 i can be available to clients during the busy season. I think a healthy amount of childcare with someone my kids love is really helpful and so fun for the kids. There is no shame in getting a little help!

Maybe it’s just that time of year? We’re feeling the overwhelm in our home, too! God is good, tho. Praying for discernment to manage the time He’s given us.

This is one of my favourite episodes you’ve done! I really relate you the problems that accompany overwhelm in the season I’m in, and you’ve totally motivated me to manage my time better and to prioritize the things that are most important ♥️

The Practical Homeschooler YT channel just talked about how the "3 Things" on your to-do list really is an impractical approach because we have so many responsibilities beyond just 3.

Is it worth doing the laundry at Kentucky before travelling back?
@j.8678

Yes! I always do my laundry while gone when we go visit my family out of town for extended periods of time! It is so helpful to not come back to an entire week's worth of laundry!

Ummmm… yes to perspective change!!! Really the mind is so so powerful. Often overwhelm draws me closer to Jesus because I’m reminded of me taking things into my own hands rather than taking on the mind of Christ.

Military families do not have the luxury of family nearby, and much of the time the military member is not at home or even in a war zone. They live overseas in a different culture. They still manage large gardens, mow the lawn, exercise, appointments, home school, helping others, church leadership. They both take on part time positions where the children can be along. That was my life. Lists were my friend. You’re lucky to have the support of your husband helping. He’s very gracious. The Christian life should be natural. I find you overthink. Have a plan. Make a list. Prioritize. Put things on the next day that you don’t finish. Life goes on. Be flexible

While military families are very respected for the immense sacrifice, there’s all kinds of reasons non military families don’t aspire to model their lives after that kind of lifestyle. Until the Industrial Revolution, it was very common for husband and wife and kids to work as a team while also pouring and benefiting from a larger community or extended family. And everyone is an individual with different wiring/strengths/weaknesses that aren’t better or worse than someone else’s. All this to say the critiques you mentioned sound like a bad comparison game.
