5 days sober in The midst of holidays. Triggers everywhere. Tv shows, movies, commercials. Everyone is drinking. I put a sign on my mirror that says “I don’t drink”.

I have your book as well; and it is just as amazing and helpful as these wonderful videos! One of my triggers was hearing news about an old friend ( she broke our friendship off after 18 yrs, and alcohol was a factor in that). She moved and I miss her still. Once in a while, I would hear how great she was doing, and it would trigger me to have a drink. The longer I went without alcohol, my sobriety gave me more expanded positive energy. This helped me get over the breakup, and I didn't feel so triggered when I heard about her.

My main tool this Holiday season will be my freedom to drive home. When everyone starts to get hammered, that's going to be my first sign to leave. Unless if it's funny I'll stay but if things start to get overly dramatic and annoying, I'm going to leave because I'll have the ability to drive LOL

@@maxwillson be still very careful about walking the path of bars and parties again. Doing that kind of things in early sobriety (less than a year) wakes up our "intruder". Maybe you'll leave the party early with no consumption of alcohol... but that visions (of beverages) make a mark in your unconcious brain. To many marks... it traps you again. Stay well and sober. I'm speaking from my 18 years of sobriety after a pair of relapses due to partying too early.

Thank you so much for your video's! I'm 3 and a half months sober and in this time I have gotten sick alot. Cold after cold. Now I have a very bad flew, high fever and alot of throatpain. I thought that not drinking would be better for my immunity. Or is it normal that in the beginning you get sick more often?
