Navy Seals lived on my base at NAS Oceana. As a matter of fact I knew about Seal Team 6 since 1986. They work at Dam Neck Annex next door to Little Creek where all the even number Seal Teams work and live. Dam Neck is owned and controlled by NAS Oceana. When you know, you know and this brown shoe knows.😊 When I got to NAS Oceana I had to go to NIS for my security clearances. Today they are known as NCIS, but it’s the same agency, with the added C. Stickers on our ID Cards back then for gate access to aircraft gates, and clearance for Classified info within our Avionics and mission documentation.

I lived at NAS Oceana for 12 years in various F-14 Squadrons during my commitment to the Navy. I had the opportunity to fly off the USS Forrestal in a CH-46 after a work up towards a Med Cruise. I was aboard during fly off the CAG was gone and high speed turns were bad ass. After that the CH-46 flew us to NAS Mayport so I could catch a hop in a C-9 back to Oceana.

Yeah, I used to love them as a kid, just more authentic. Do they still demo the F14 or no @ Oceana? I haven't been down in a long time since I've been in the DC area

Too bad they did not do a 1v1 F-14B vs F/A-18C! The older Tomcat would have pounded on the new Hornet even embarrassed it! I also wish they kept a couple few for airshow purposes. we have WWII aircraft proudly flying, but no Tomcats :(

@@Tamburello_1994 I agree. People shit on the Hornet and Super Hornet without realizing that it has it's advantages over some fighters, and that it is a very powerful aircraft.

@@OverlordAntares It is actually underpowered in ways so to speak, the Super Hornet is known as the Super Slow Hornet from what I read. I agree they Hornet is a great airplane and does it's job well but I would not call it very powerful so to speak as opposed to the F14 and those GE-F110 engines.

That is a crime that they destroyed them all and left NONE for air shows. They were so scared of parts getting out to Iran that they go and destroy them all, sounds like a pretty capable "old" jet to me if you need to do that....... Just saying.

They don't do airshows like this any more. I remember in early mid 90s. You would see like 10 15 or even 20 hueys then some Chinooks. And it would be so cool. Then it would be all jets all day.
