As a really experienced mygm player (been doing it since 2k15) the things that he speakers about which are really important are rookie contracts/qualifying offers, max deals, and bird rights. The rest of what he talks about isn’t as implemented into the game though there are much much more realistic NBA GM simulators which id advise you to check out.

I have NO idea if all the info presented is correct, BUT... it sure as hell sounds like this guy (or kid, he sounds young!) knows what he’s talking about. I’m beyond impressed and super curious how old this guy is. He sounds 15 or 16 years old, maybe younger. I’m half way through and there are a few mistakes, simple things it seems like he just read wrong off the script (example: saying $139 dollars instead of $139 MILLION dollars, etc). Tighten up those little errors, continue to work on your voice, delivery, tone, etc. We could have a future ESPN host right here. PS: I’m not trying to criticize at all! I’m trying to help. I’ve done some professional voice over work and many years of public speaking all over the world. Not trying to pat myself on the back, just saying, I’m trying to help coming from experience (not some random dude who’s never done anything). Keep up the great work 👍🏻
@devn2664 жыл бұрын
But the thing about RFA is you can match over the cap because you have bird rights so, to make it so players aren't forced to sign with their original team because they don't want to be underpaid, they should make it in writing that you don't get bird rights from playing for a team while on a rookie contract. So, basically you can only start to stack up bird rights years if you are done with your rookie contract.

Your sign and trade bit wasn't just incorrect, but it also only lasted like 30 seconds. Chris Paul to the Rockets wasn't a sign and trade either, it was a special circumstance where it was just a standard trade and then he signed an extension afterwards.

Here is the thing you are (insert NBA team here) and your player is a free agent for the upcoming free agency. The agent for certain player indicates either overtly or strongly covertly that they intend in not resigning with the franchise. You try trading (insert player here) before the midseason trade deadline, with the hope of the player not leaving in the off season and your team does not leave you high and dry and your franchise receives nothing. The teams will probably not take the bait under the assumption that why should we trade assets for a player whom could be a rental. That is why the Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors should serve as a template in the 2019 Free-Agency. Kevin Durant was indicated to be out of Golden State Warriors. He wanted to team up with his friend Kyrie Irving whom left the Boston Celtics and his other friend in Deandre Jordan whom played for the in city Rival New York Knicks. The Golden State Warriors did a sign and trade receiving D’Anglo Russel from The Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant by way of sign and trade in the 2019 NBA Free Agency. It ended up being a trade chip the Golden State Warriors used to fill the Small Forward position by trading for Andrew Wiggins, who is like a way better Harrison Barnes. The lesson here is don’t let a player leave and receive nothing in return make sure you get something back so you don’t get in the situation where a player leaves for nothing.

So in theory if you spend a lot of money in taxes to the least spending teams now while you are on top. Then when you eventually have to rebuild and get rid of salary and your team sucks then you will get those benefits from the other teams paying the luxury tax. So you never really lose.

Say the Spurs guaranteed Gasol 3 yrs 16.4 per year, year 2 they choose a buyout, does that mean the player and the team can come to an agreement on the remainder of contract, or does this mean the team pays the full year 2 and 3 salary in this case?
