I don't think Draymond would be able to match up against anyone in the NBA from the 1980s-the early 1990s. Maybe he could play on the Denver nuggets but no way he'd be able to match up against anyone in the bostin Celtics, Lakers, 76ers , bulls, pistons, they just had to many great players. Today it's saying something if you have three great players on a team back then the teams I just mentioned had 6 great players on each team I forgot the jazz and the Knicks and pacers cavs all had a great starting lineups as did the suns and hawks and supersonics, trailblazers had a great teams with great players. I really don't even think he'd make the bench for those teams he'd probably make it in the spurs back then maybe the tickets in the early 80s before their championship teams

As a fellow life-long Bulls fan (I go back to 1970-- Norm Van Lier and Jerry Sloan remain the two baddest 1-2 guard defense I've ever seen), I too fell in love with the Worm when he was on the Bulls' ultimate nemesis, the Detroit "Bad Boy" Pistons. I watched him play and play with his freakshow motor that never stopped whenever I could. It was really just a crazy pleasure to see how if one can't score, one can't win-- and Rodman did everything he could to demonstrate that reality and early on. As a life-long fellow Bears "Monsters of The Midway" fan as well as being a lover of my favorite sport, Baseball, in which it is the only game in which the defense controls the ball.... I guess one could say, I was utterly defensive minded for sure. So I appreciated this tactic immensely. Even as an enemy, how can one not appreciate the efforts of anyone who is doing things that are so eye popping? His athleticism was so supreme but when he began to gain more basketball experience at the pro-level.... he became a no-score threat that could literally dominate the game and only shoot the ball 3 or 4 times in a game. That alone is jaw dropping. But when he really began studying the X's and O's at the pro-level and such a bizarre outsider looking in viewpoint, he played HOF basketball. When I learned he became a Chicago Bull.... I looked at my (then wife).... and told her "no one is going to beat the Bulls for the Championship. It's already theirs and the entire NBA already knows it." In the scope of the question favorite Rodman moment? I remember early on in Rodman's first season, him and Luc Longley both went up for a defensive rebound, between the two it bounced around a few times in the air and Luc came down with it while elbowing Rodman right in the grill for it. Knocked his head completely back. Rodman smiled, laughed and patted Luc on his @$$ for imposing his will to get it and clapped all the way back down to offense. That was very cool. I met Dennis Rodman in Vegas once about 3am in the morning. There were security guards with him. I asked them isn't that Dennis Rodman. They said yes it is, told them I am a huge Ridman fan. I wound up getting to meet him. Said hi told i was a huge fan, he was in between teams then I asked if he knew where he wanted to go. He said he is still deciding. Probably a 1-2 minute interaction. I was at game six of the 1987/1988 NBA Finals at the Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles. Lakers verses Pistons. At the time I believed (it was my opinion) that Dennis Rodman was every bit a dirty player as Bill Laimbeer. I also believed that he was just as over-rated. But by the end of that game I became a Dennis Rodman fan for life. There was one play in particular where Rodman literally blew my mind with his incredible hustle and athletic prowess. This story begins on the Pistons offensive end of the court. After a missed shot by Detroit there was a long rebound to the left of the goal that was heading out of bounds. As the ball was careening over the 1st row of seats out of play Rodman dove (flat out) over the front row seats while the spectators in the seats were all scrambling and diving to get out of his way. Dennis got possession of the ball in mid air and threw it behind his back and saved the ball from going out of bounds. Dennis landed head first on the side of his face, his shoulders and his chest hit the floor next. Then in this incredible feat of athletic ability his entire bodies momentum slid across the floor and he ended up on his feet in an upright position. What was also truly amazing is that Rodman never stopped running. Now the ball was saved to the Lakers and they took off on a fast break. Rodman was chasing them from the aisle out of bounds just behind the front row seats. When he reached half court there was a space where there were no seats and he sprinted back onto the court chasing down the ball like a "surface to air" missile. He ran the play down and the Lakers shot the ball and missed. As the rebound goes up there's Dennis Rodman taking possession of the rebound on the defensive end. Without stopping Rodman instantly threw a perfect outlet pass hitting his teammate in stride to start a Pistons fast break of there own. I was stunned at what I had just seen. It was the exact kind of tough, smash mouth, lunch bucket, hustle your backside off and never quit on the ball mentality, that never makes it onto a stats sheet. While a lot of NBA players talk about this kind of mindset... Only a few of them can ever truly pull it off. My mouth was so wide open in awe that my jaw was resting on my chest. Because I could not believe what I had just witnessed with my own two eyes. From that moment forward I had a new found respect for Dennis Rodman's basketball abilities. Dennis Rodman fulfilled a career as hands down one of the best players who played professional basketball during what was the single greatest era in NBA history. Yea, no shit, I hated him whenever we played em, but I always knew why. He put more fear in opposing teams than maybe anyone? And for multiple reasons! You really never knew how he might pull out the win in a must win. You just got used to the fact he always did. If Jordan or Thompson had huge games, watch those games and pay attention to what rodman did, It's not on any stat sheet. Except for what is. There is no stat for half of Rodman's skill-set. The more I think back about it, the more unreal it seems . It's absolute truth, nobody wanted him on the court opposing your team. In their prime, Jordan, Magic, Bird, Malone, Alajuwan,Kareem, Shaq, Dominique,Drexler, add infinitum, the talent in the league was endless. Guys like Gary Payton we're getting passed up for all defensive all star picks. And who was defensive player of the year. There were zero arguments, hands down, he could guard anyone in the league at any position, and did. At a shutdown level like Sherman did for the legion of boom. I hated him then. The biggest "weakness" of pre Rodman bulls was the boards. Before him it was rebounding by committee, the weren't bad but nothing special. Once I heard they got Rodman, I remember thinking they may not lose a game. More rebounds meant more possessions for the bulls offense plus this d took some load of pip and mj on the defensive end. Which meant they were fresher down the stretch at the end of games and in the playoffs

The thing about Dennis was, he's very physical but he isn't dirty. I mean maybe sometimes but that's not really a part of his game. I didnt really understand Dennis until about 1990, I was in 7th grade and we played rec ball and I hadnt turned into a scorer yet so I wore too small shorts and tried to rebound like him. When he got with the Bulls he quickly made my top 5 of all time. I have Scotty 2nd and Dennis 3rd. That was great basketball that helped shape my game and my life.

Dennis's autobiography is Bad As Wanta Be. It's really great. He was a 19 year old HS dropout who was a night janitor, and he was suicidal. His sisters played ball, but he didn't. His father was out of the picture. He made the decision to dedicate himself to turning rebounding into an art. He studied it, and worked at it, and turned himself into a basketball genius, despite all his baggage. I'd love to meet him.

I remember Zo saying that they were game planning Rodman in one of those playoff series and that controlling him and his rebounding was a major key to their success. He stated that they tried EVERYTHING and threw EVERYONE at him, but no matter what they did, they could not keep him off the boards. He was literally unstoppable.

People think I’m crazy when I say Rodman was as dominant defensively is on par with what Shaq was offensively. Rodman was a force on the defensive end of the court. From Bird to Magic to Shaq he could guard them by himself. He was also the best team defender of all time in my opinion and I don’t even have to mention rebounding.

Dennis Rodman was a lot of fun to watch! Crazy thing Rodman grew 8 inches after turning 20 years old and had never played basketball up til that point. Someone said maybe you should because you're tall so he gave it a try. Not long after that he was seen by a coach and was scouted to play at small college. He picked up the game quickly and within a couple of years he was one of the best in the nation. He enter the drafted at the age 25 6'7" in 86 and went 3rd pick in the 2nd round.

Dennis's autobiography is BAD AS I WANNA BE. It's a great read. His sisters were players, but he was not at 19, when he decided he would make rebounding into an art, and he would master it. He had virtually never played organized ball, and was working as a night janitor with all kinds of emotional baggage, He won 5 rings, and to me, his greatest accomplshment was turning the Bulls team, which was alreday great, into the greatest team of all time with a 72-10 record.
