They learn from the legends that came before them and end up better than them. And the second one is that once you get to a certain point, like top 15 or top 20, you're just great no matter what, you definitely could play great in any era. Maybe they wouldn't be the absolute best in the league like they were at their time, but they definitely can be one of the bests regardless of whenever you drop them in the timeline. It is true that they'll be lacking in some areas, but picking on that would be like saying Kobe and MJ were not great playmakers, it makes sense when you're comparing them to the other top 10~15 all-time, but that's just because the bar is set way higher, they're still great at it compared to the average at any given time in history.
