Drexler, Miller, Ewing, Berkeley, Stockton and Malone were Jordan victims. The 90s were a golden age for the Chicago Bulls, but a nightmare for other teams like the Blazers, Pacers, Suns, Jazz and Knicks. Jordan, who beat them to win three straight titles twice, is truly the "greatest basketball player of all time" and the "god of basketball."

It was the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons who harassed, hounded, pushed, shoved, hit, and ganged-up on Jordan in the playoffs three straight years that made him hit the weight room on the daily to be physically ready when it was his time to take over. Jordan also had to become mentally tougher as well, which he finally did in 1991. You mentioned all the players and teams Jordan beat in the 90's, I'll give you the rundown on what Detroit did to Jordan and the Bulls if you forgot. 1988 NBA playoffs Detroit beat Chicago in the second round in 5 games, advanced to the NBA Finals. 1989 NBA playoffs Detroit beat Chicago in the ECF in 6 games, won the NBA World Championship. 1990 NBA playoffs Detroit beat Chicago in the ECF in 7 games, wins Back-to-Back NBA World Championship. Jordan has never forgotten those losses, and neither should his fans. Jordan was a victim of the Bad Boys!

@@MrDangelo7777 accolades & stats are not always the best measurement of greatness, especially if we talk with MJ who gave small bribes, and push stats guys to be sure that he had more steals registered than Pip. Pip's influence was bigger on the D, you can't find how many turnovers opponents made because of his presence and great positioning, MJ often gambled on the D to score the steal, if he missed who covered his player? Pip.. yeah it's a pitty that he didn't have DPOY. Don't get me wrong I also admire MJ, but in my opinion, Pip was a better defender.

I thought it was crazy with Jordans mentality on defense. Even during The Last Dance in practice Jordan slapped the ball out of Scott Burrell hands as he drove to the rim and Jordans reaction was like in discuss. Jordan was like not even trying hard on defense and was shaking his head like, "Really your gonna try and take the ball to the hoop against me?" Many players had said from 1986 to 1993 Michael Jordan was the best offensive and defensive player in the NBA. Aside from Wilt Chamberlain being so dominant over the NBA players in his era, no one else has had that type of effect on the NBA.

The Jets clip is my favorite cuz it's true! Most people just know the jumpman and the free throw line and sometimes people will know about the great fadeaway but rarely do people acknowledge his fundamentals on both sides of the court which allowed him to do those crazy things. Even Vince Carter who played in the 90s, 00, 10s and play against some of these athletic freaks that kids today claim Jordan won't survive against is telling you that MJ would dominate today. I was a huge Boston Celtics fan at the time of his 63 point performance, they went on to win the championship that year. All the Boston stars were in their prime, Bird, DJ, McHale, Parish, Ainge, plus Bill Walton was healthy for almost the entire year (he had previously carried the Portland Trail Blazers to a championship years ago), and so Boston was a steamroller that year. Beyond that, they had lost just one (1) game the entire season on their home court (home court was a HUGE advantage back in that era, more so than today)... I watched that game thinking this was incredible, NOBODY on this steamroller team could stop him. Even Dennis Johnson, who completely changed a previous championship series with the LA Lakers, who had blown Boston out one game, was shut down drastically when they put DJ on Magic. So they put DJ on Michael, but what happened was DJ quickly got into foul trouble (foul trouble was a real issue back in that era, if a star picked up 4 fouls by early third quarter, he'd usually be subbed for so he could play freely during crunch time at the end of the game.) So they put someone else on Michael, and that person got into foul trouble as well...he would drive into the lane, and McHale, Parish, Bird, and Walton all tried to stop him, THE ENTIRE starting lineup, plus Bill Walton, of this steamroller Boston team that eventually won the championship, got into foul trouble by the middle of the fourth quarter. Yeah, I used to tell people I wanted to see him disprove the one man team theory of a one man team never being able to get anywhere.

I don't think his 63 points is put in proper perspective. To score 63 in a playoff game where: 1) the intensity is increased 2) in a more physical era 3) against the best team that year in a hostile environment *Edit* 4) he made no 3 pointers...😳 Even if somebody breaks that record, that record will never be broken.

Jordan 91-98 30.3 ppg on .514% efg Lebron more efficient scorer with more assist and rebounds , Kobe and Jordan just attempted more shots because they were scorers and LeBron was more an all-round player. There is plenty of players in the 80s besides Jordan who had seasons with higher scoring on better efficiency than Kobe in his prime, yet no one would claim them to be better scorers. But LeBron people have a very hard time admitting he's better than anyone post Jordan era.

Bill Walton forgot to mention that Jordan only scored 19 points in the third playoff game against the '86 Celtics. Those Celtics were not going to let Jordan have three great scoring games against them. After 63 points, the Celtics took Jordan seriously. However, it also showed Jordan's greatness because he almost had a triple-double in the third game (10 rebounds, 9 assists). Ironically, Jordan had 5, 4, and 5 turnovers in that series. One of the issues with Jordan in his early NBA years was that he did force things and would turn the ball over. As he matured and trusted his teammates, he was much better not turning the ball over.

This video makes a very important point on Jordan. He certainly was a great athlete but that's not why he's the greatest basketball player of all time. He learned the fundamentals at the University of North Carolina under Dean Smith, continued to work on his game, went to the gym, and learned how to motivate himself. I remember seeing an interview with Spike Lee that was filmed during the 1980s and Lee was complaining about the differences in how Larry Bird and Michael Jordan were written about by sportswriters. Larry Bird was hard working and smart if unathletic. Jordan was a natural phenomenon who won because of some gift of nature. In reality, Bird was 6'9" and quite agile for a guy that size but he wasn't more of a hard worker than Jordan was. Just the opposite, Jordan was a fitness fanatic who avoided injury because he went to the gym. Bird's career was cut short because he was careless.

To start with, his talents & athleticism are already way above excellent, but I believe the X-factor with The GOAT is the relentless determination to keep on improving, trying to beat an opponent who is seemingly challenging him OR kept on wanting to beat his OWN most recent accomplishments. This is an UNPRECEDENTED inner self quality unique ONLY to him. The closest to that will be Kobe, but Kobe got the crucial pointers & first-hand techniques with unselfish mentoring from Michael himself. M.J. had to rely on his recall & tapes to review his idol Dr. J. but no actual mentoring unlike Kobe. There will NEVER be another MJ. He is NOT a generational player. The dude is a Millennial One. No question.

Most of the players of the NBA have their own fortress. I can recognize. Everyone is good enough. What happens to Michael Jordan is that, He is extraordinary- He is one of a kind. I could ask myself. Well, then after Michael Jordan who is the 2nd one, or the 3rd. Maybe Scottie Pippen? Maybe Karl Malone ? who knows ? Many or them deserve the success. That´s why they belong to the "Hall of Fame".

Makes AI's cross-over (in his rookie year) even more bad-ass. Cold as ice. Jordan was psychotic... I don't think he would've cared if he wasn't popular as long as he won.

“Harder teams”?? Every season it’s still only 3 or so real contenders, so not much has changed. You play the competition that is presented to you and your TEAMMATES will be on that level as well!! So MJ in todays league with todays players as teammates, it would be like seeing GSW - only difference is he would actually 3 PEAT.

The BIGGEST thing missed in MJ's success is the 5-man team AND supporting cast of "ALLSTAR" teammates at the other 4 positions !! kERR-Armstrong-Paxon-Horace Grant>>DENNIS!>>Cartwright, Parrish, Wennington, PIPPEN...etc. etc, etc
