It's crazy. In all his years in the game, you never see Jordan talking to anyone else as easily as he looks when talking with Kobe. Everybody else got the 'this is my job' conversation- basketball story of Jordan doing this or Jordan doing that. In every video I've come across of these two, they gave off more than a 'workmate' vibe. Almost as if seeing each other back on the job after family vacationing together just the other weekend and now they're catching up on things to plan the next one. I don't know. That seems to be the vibe in every video of these two on the court together. Anybody else?

You can't say they were the same then turnaround and say they were similar. Kobe was a great player that was the closest to emulating MJ. But they were not the same. Regardless how Kobe mimicked so much of MJ's moves, Mike had something that was original that can't be duplicated regardless of how much a persons game resembles. Mike had an art form, a beauty, an elegant ability that when he done things it just looked effortless. Even when he missed it was exciting. Something's can't be taught it just comes naturally to some (gift). The only other person that I know of that had that to a degree is Dr J. And I didn't see Dr J play in his prime. I just saw videos and heard stories. And I'm a late 70's baby also.

Facts, a real competitor is not “terrified” of competition, they embrace it. Most of the people guarding Jordan were sorry anyway and Jordan never had to guard the great players during his era for extended periods like Malone, Barkley, Hakeem, Shaq, Mullin, Magic, Bird. Best player Jordan had to guard in the playoffs was Drexler. Pippen, Grant, Rodman we’re tasked with guarding the HOFers.
