Dominant is similar to the best but not exactly the same. Best often means having a great coach and great players, dominant means just the player without considering anyone else but his defensive and offensive abilities. Disappointing that not once did he ever lead the NBA in rebounds and block shots. And never once won the DPOY award. Arguably the most dominant center in history, it's fair to say that one would/should have expected him to be the rebounds and block shots leader multiple times, as well as winning multiple DPOY awards. If he did, he would often be included in GOAT discussions.

White America was shocked in the 80s-90s that blacks were absolutely dominating the game, and there just weren’t anymore superstar white players after Larry Bird. The best white player in the 90s was John Stockton. That doesn’t surprise me at all. Blacks were going to dominate the NBA once systemic racism ended in pro sports. But, what does surprise me is how there really aren’t any more dominant centers like Shaq. Though Shaq was a once in a lifetime type of center in both his size and agility (Yao Ming was impressed in how active Shaq was since Yao had trouble going up and down the court with smaller guys), it’s been disappointing to watch the league with really no more superstar centers that completely dominate you down low. It feels like the Wilt Chamberlain, Willis Reed and Shaq type centers are gone for good. Dwight was always a fabricated version of them. It will be a very long time until we see another Shaq…a behemoth King Kong who clearly imposes his monstrous presence on both the offensive and defensive end. But what I like most about Shaq is that he’s just a good humble dude.

Wilt fabricated things but not his physical feats. I would've love to see wilt vs shaq in primes. Wilt was faster, quicker, better leaper, shot blocker, more developed offensively and defensively. The only thing people wonder is if shaq was stronger than wilt. Other than that nothing in shaqs game was better than wilt.

@Robert Horry and offcourse 48 minutes per game, man is never tired. In 70's trash, dominated Gilmore and shut dawn Kareem in last most important 2 games in the finals in 35 and bad knees. Not to.mandion that, in the 112 games counted, he avereges 8.8 blocks, in the later stage of his career. And Shaq was 100 pounds havier than anyone else, why didnt he put 100 points, maybe on Big Ben (6'7,240). I am not saying that he is not a great great player, he was, but not better than Wilt. And remmember whar Arnold says about Wilts strangh. Not to mansion steroids and suplements and offcourse that at that time you couldnt push everyone like Shaq could, it was a offensive foul all the time, you could see that in videos. Stfu, Lebron always puts everybody even his teammates before himself and you can even see it through the way he plays and how he handles himself off the court. So stop trying to come up with this fake ass narrative that Lebron is this type of selfish, narcissistic teammate or person.
@deeniehyatt2230
@deeniehyatt2230 4 жыл бұрын
The reason why LeBron is like that is because the questions he got from people... Its very rare for people to ask him to compare 2 different players without involving himself.. and people always put him at higher expectations... Go watch any LeBron interview.. the question is always about him.. and if it were to be about someone else, listen to his answer and he was mostly humble about it..

I was using that as an example. Look at every interview he has ever done. Just an observation. He is very unselfish on the court and that is why he isn't a killer.. off the court his head is up his own ass and goes around telling everyone he is the Goat, while all the greats say it's impossible to say who the goat is.
