The New York Knicks are one of the most relevant teams in sports, really? The team that hasn't won a championship in 40 years and hasn't really been in the running for one in almost 20. The team that in the last 15 years has only had a winning record three times. The team that in the last 15 years has only been to the playoffs three times and never past the second round. I'm not trying to be a hater but if the 2012 knicks can be up there then the Clippers and debatably the Magic from the same year deserve to be up there too.

Rick I'm a huge Warriors fan, lived in the Bay Area all my life. I actually like the Ellis trade. Actually I hate it he was my favorite player and really underrated. But I think if Bogut and Steph Curry are healthy we'll be a better team for it. Ben's right we aren't good enough with him, even if he's amazing. sean wilkerson if you have seen Ellis on the pacers he hasn't been doing well at all and I would start Klay Thompson over him. Klay is a very underrated defender when monta is just a shot taker. Thompson beats Ellis in almost every stat possible

It has everything to do with popularity over the years. That's why most of the expansion teams were considered irrelevant; they haven't been around long enough to have that big following. The Knicks have sucked for a while, but they have a huge following because they are in New York. The Lakers suck but they've been one of the most popular teams in all of sports for decades. I'd disagree with the Jazz being irrelevant, since they are hugely popular in their hometown, though.
