Such a great document. I am from Poland, not so far from you, brothers. I was born in 1979, and remember late '80's and early '90's very well. I love sport (never played professionaly, however i am active team member of recreationteam in ice hockey and football), and in one evening i noticed this document in TVP Sport. It was almost midnight. I just watched, followed minute by minute. This comparison of real friendship and brotherhood with politics is so emotional to me. G Thank you for this document. I've shared it with my friends. Greeting from PL

Actually, your comment is ignorant and takes things out of context. Drazen was forced by his surroundings to deny anything that was Serbian. Mind you Drazen’s father was Serbian; Jovan Petrovic, and their family hails from the same area as royal family of Serbs in Montenegro. Croatia is build on Nazi genocide. Rukomet, malo smo skrenuli sa staza slave, no ajde, drzimo taj kult reprezentacije i dalje.

@@33neptun No its not made on force, its made with lots of love and hope. Yugoslavia was make with love and like 6 equal republics, people like eachothers and they had together the largest anti-fascist movement in Europe with Tito like leader(he was Croat from Kumrovec-Croatia). It was great country while president Tito was alive. After his death 1980. and after fall of Berlin wall many nationalists make hate on others, some republics like Serbia want to become more dominant then others. And because of that Yugoslavia broken and republics proclaim independence. So, Drazen and all other players love Yugoslavia, and after broken and indenpendence they love each its new state. South Slavic tribes(nations) comes from Carpathians in the seventh century. Each form own country and after WW1 they try to make state together. First in monarchy and after ww2 in federations of republics.

"Canada must demand more of its political leaders before they lead us into another war." Mr. Bissett, a career diplomat, also wrote that Canada's "flagrant violation of international law" was conducted without public awareness or parliamentary debate. He was particularly critical of NATO's bombing campaign, which he said was a direct violation of the United Nations Charter and NATO's own treaties and was responsible for the deaths of more than 2,000 Yugoslav civilians. If it was true, there would be a video proving it at a venue such as the arena hosting the World Championship final game. Also, the flag which he TOOK and put/threw by the advertising boards by the court was the flag of the independent Croatia, which at the time existed only as an idea of a political group. It was NOT the flag of 1990 SR Croatia. Then, YUGOSLAVIA was World Champ.

It's an emotional and well produced documentary. The problem is that Divac narrates it and tell the story so man years after Petrovic is dead, telling one side. Divac is a known serb natioalist, and tries to portray Yugoslavia as paradise. It was a shithole if you weren't a brainwashed commie or å serb. They even had a secret police (Udba)that killed people working for independence (both in Yugoslavia and in Australia, Germany etc). I have no doubt these players were good friends and had some great years together. They were young and naive. But this film is a opportunityfor Divac to cover up the real story in a sneaky way.

This is very sad story :(
@ArgentumBlitz14 жыл бұрын
What is the most sad about this story, and what put some other light on this story is the fact that DRAZEN PETROVIC was a half serbian.But beside that he saw what serbian army is doing in HIS country of croatia.Thats the whole point.Vlado Divac did mistake, probably he didnt think about that flag story as we see it today. We could brake in peace, we could became the prosperitive european nation, but goverment on both side chose darkness, violence and war.I bet 90% people on bouth side feel sorry

@Koolbeen Been one question...who choose goverment in serbia ? maybe people ? hhhhhh in 90s serbian people overthrowed the government AFTER they lose every single war (last was kosovo). then they were angry , not because many civil and other crimes what they did. only because of lost war. now, if you arent from exyu countries i dont know what you argue here because you dont know shit. read, learn. bye.
