Megyn Kelly is awful but seriously this was simply an excuse for NBC to fire her from the Today show because of her show's low ratings. These comments she made weren't the worst thing she's ever said or even "racist". These comments may have been politically incorrect and not a "proper" thing to say in public but certainly not a fireable offense. NBC sucks and always has! Kelly's salary was outrageously high and NBC should have given Kelly an opportunity to discuss her comments further as a learning experience.
@charleshenderson45666 жыл бұрын
The others could mention "Nazi" and "Anne Frank" and they weren't "insensitive" and yet Kelly's simple comments were just amplifies the idea that to mention anything about races (good or bad) in our nation comes out of people trying to get someone fired just so the "race card" can be played.
@julysdejesus38246 жыл бұрын
I am a dark skin hispanic woman and to be honest i really didn't feel offended because she mentioned both races white and black, she did not specify only one. I think she should be educated about that comment, give an apology and move on. I don't like her at all because she is too tough, but i dont think that incident was that bad to fired her. Maybe i am wrong but i think everybody deserves a second opportunity. Even though she has a second opportunity on Fox with Santa and Jesus. But apparently NBC don't play that. 😣

You obviously don't know history, oh, i forgot- they changed the books so it wouldn't reflect how bad people of color was treated, and you wouldn't care about it one way or another anyway, do some research before you start spouting off, it's "highly offensive" to people of color to be portrayed in such a degrading and negative light, and it's totally untrue that we acted like they're portraying us, if it wasn't for "people of color" you wouldn't have a lot of things that you enjoy now, whether they're black, Chinese, Spanish, Native American, or any other colors in the spectrum, we've donated to this country, and for you to think that you're "superior" to anyone else is just ludacris, everyone is "American" and you can't change that, so get over yourself, and check your attitude.

The Plague of Politically Correct Fascism “I had a good friend, a sweet elderly gentleman who was unabashedly gay, and he passed away several years ago. He used to denounce gay marriage in the most vicious manner and, so one day, I asked him what inspired such strong sentiments. He responded, “Honey, I can’t stand religions since most seem to have issues with those of my kind...and I can not fathom why any gay person would embrace any institution such as marriage that is a religious sacrament. In doing so, they only succeed in offending the religious majority and creating even more hatred against my kind. It just makes no sense!” Today, my gay friend would be unable to voice openly such a contrarian opinion since, within a society under thrall of politically correct fascists, aka, neo-McCarthyites, such a sentiment would be deemed to be a “hate crime.” Until the politically correct fascists are removed from their positions of power in our society, particularly within the academe and Big Media, then the suppression of free speech will continue and everybody will be compelled to walk upon eggshells, no matter what their race, religion, or sexual preference.” ____________________ Catman Cohen, 2017

It is not disrespect. There are too many sensitivities in The States. So sad. Be one and expect the best of each other, meaning that if someone is dressing-up in your race it is not to make fun of you but to just dress-up for halloween and have a good time. Man, it could even be a bonding time between you and your friends from other races. Halloween is to step out of routine and enjoy time with friends.

A few weeks before her firing, Megyn Kelley had the nerve to explain how she couldn't get over other people's facial flaws, and that she felt compelled to bring their own face or body flaws immediately up to them, just so she could get over it enough to carry on speaking to them, and even defended such a position. From WIKIPEDIA, the biography of AL JOLSON, the most popular blackface performer in the USA who has been unjustly demonized by the black supremacists of the nation: Jolson's legacy as the most popular performer of blackface routines was complemented by his relationships with African-Americans and his appreciation and use of African-American cultural trends.[12] Jolson first heard jazz, blues, and ragtime in the alleys of New Orleans, Louisiana. He enjoyed singing the new jazz-style of music, often performing in blackface, especially in the songs he made popular, such as "Swanee", "My Mammy", and "Rock-A-Bye Your Baby With A Dixie Melody". As a Jewish immigrant and America's most famous and highest-paid entertainer, he may have had the incentive and resources to help break down racial attitudes. For instance, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) during its peak in the early 1920s, was estimated to include about 15% of the nation's eligible voting population, 4-5 million men, though probably much smaller.[41] While The Birth of a Nation glorified white supremacy and the KKK, Jolson chose to star in The Jazz Singer, which defied racial bigotry by introducing American black music to audiences worldwide.[15] While growing up, Jolson had many black friends, including Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, who became a prominent tap dancer.[23] As early as 1911, at the age of 25, Jolson was noted for fighting discrimination on Broadway and later in his movies:[42] "at a time when black people were banned from starring on the Broadway stage",[43] he promoted the play by black playwright Garland Anderson,[44] which became the first production with an all-black cast produced on Broadway; he brought an all-black dance team from San Francisco that he tried to feature in his Broadway show;[42] he demanded equal treatment for Cab Calloway, with whom he performed a number of duets in his movie The Singing Kid; he was "the only white man allowed into an all black nightclub in Harlem".[42] Al Jolson once read in the newspaper that songwriters Eubie Blake and Noble Sissle, neither of whom he had ever heard of, were refused service at a Connecticut restaurant because of their race. He immediately tracked them down and took them out to dinner, "insisting he'd punch anyone in the nose who tried to kick us out!"[12] According to biographer Al Rose, Jolson and Blake became friends. British performer Brian Conley, former star of the 1995 British play Jolson , stated during an interview, "I found out Jolson was actually a hero to the black people of America. At his funeral, black actors lined the way, they really appreciated what he'd done for them."[49] Noble Sissle, who was president of the Negro Actors Guild , represented that organization at his funeral.[50]
