Many conservative women are powerful just like Megan. If you never watch Fox, try listening for awhile like I have been doing. Everyone needs to hear both sides of any story. MSNBC, CNN, FOX, etc. Listen for the atmosphere and attitudes on each station. Some are happy and cheerful as they report. Some are angry and bitter. Some run on facts and others on fables.

Ladies, the best tool against abuse these days is your cell phone. It has a camera and a voice recorder. Second best tool is to keep a journal to record dates and times. 44% of domestic abuse goes unreported, according to the US government website, the National institute of Health. These same tools can be used in the workplace, too. Just make sure you are recorded in the conversation.

To be clear..." human resources" is ALWAYS controlled by the organization....their very existence is to protect the organization not the employee... and unfortunately in real life...most powerful women are NOT going to risk their powerful position and salary to protect an employee with an entry level title. Edit to add: after 35 years of corporate shenanigans my absolute best advice to anyone, male or female who is coming up against any situation you feel crosses any lines of harassment, or gas-lighting (one of the BIGGEST problems, imo, in Corp world today), anything you feel does not sit well with you, if you can afford it, get OUTSIDE legal Council - specifically a "labour lawyer" . NEVER go to HR or the lawyers "paid for" by your company benefits. This I promise you will be one of the very best investments you will ever make in your career.

I think it is great that attractive women can rise to the top based on their willingness to sleep with powerful old men and then years later they can complain that they were victims of "sexual harassment ". What a great country this is ! But I feel sorry for the qualified woman who applied for the same job as Megyn, and didn't get it because they either weren't as pretty or they weren't willing to rub bellies with an old man.

When she says that she didn't feel like she accomplished her job at Fox because she wasn't sure she had an audience that was there to be persuaded, that's part of the problem. We now live in a world where the media feels like it's their job to persuade you instead of inform you. I'd rather be informed. As for persuaded, I don't need the media to tell me what to think about the information that I learn.

Took Dr.Phills advice .Too, bad she took some dips. Megyn claims she is worth every penny of her salary. I’m 80% convinced of her story, it’s good enough for now. Today we have commentators who not only do not give us the facts, but alter the facts to the point where those who know the truth of a situation would not even recognize what those commentators are talking about!

It's sad to see decline in civility in American politics. What happened to those days when Reagan and Tip O Neill could work together and not insult each other. What happened to compromise? It's not reporting anymore - it's simply opinion segments.

Exactly! Her job as a journalist is to report the facts. Not her opinions or her biases. This is the problem with most "journalists" today. ironheart191 wow well said. Love your compsssion to ms. Ronnie. I think you and her are taking great steps and continuing the movement and conversation going ! I think her me too hash tag was showing her support for the movement. I was watching an al jazaerra documentary and someone commented or maybe more than one person that Afghanistan was not in the Middle East Ball thought that was interesting because I thought it was too since it’s so close to other Middle East countries but I’m from the southern part of the United states and since I’m not a resident I don’t feel like I have a place to say where it was from and it was just very interesting that someone did not consider it in the Middle East. And I wanted to ask you sent you you seem like you a thought leader. You are kind compassionate and intelligent! I am thankful for you. Someone also told me that culturally they consider Afghanistan in the Middle East but not geographically. They also told me that for me to decide for myself but I would love to get someone who is right below Afghanistan on the map. Thank you so much for your support in opinion All the best to you

Anne Walker I guess... Thank you for all the kind words and surely the movement is awesome but adding a hashtag to my comment here or on my twitter @faizanusuf - where I could switch to in blink and vent more frustration - just makes me more self-aware of how inadequate I am and how undeservedly I can be attributed as one 'intelligent and compassionate thought leader'; I try to do good, or rather used to but my cynicism is overpowering and paradoxically it grows exponentially with my intelligence - not even proportionally but exponentially, and that's when I find myself frustrated to crippling inaction. But I try, or I'd like to think that I try and snap out of it and do it all over again... and so goes the cycle. Nevermind... The term Middle east, Anne, is used for a geographical region but it's not like a continent, you know, that can be demarcated. For academic purposes, one could consider Afghanistan as part of Middle East but that would require hefty qualifications. If I were to categorise Afghanistan in a region, I'd place it in 'Southeast Asia' along with India, Pakistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Srilanka, Bengladesh etc. But these 'regional' categorisations are fluid like classifications of generations (Gen X, Y, Millenials... etc.); depending on your purpose you can move the boundaries ... with qualifications. Cultural boundaries are fluid too, as you well know. And Afghanistan is geographically so situated that its termed as the 'gateway to Indian peninsula'. So the short answer in my view is, Afghanistan is in Southeast Asia while Middle-east spans from Iran to Israel (East to west) and from Turkey to Yemen (North to South)... God! I feel I might have bored you so to contemplate drowning me in Arabian Ocean or the Mediterranean one! :) Hope it answers your question, and if it raises more questions I'd say it's a good thing... feel free to ask; I'll extend my limited knowledge as much to as I can. And when I don't know something, I'll say so. :) - Cheers!

There has to be a God, because man isn't capable of NOT screwing things up all to hell. Humans have proven this a thousand times over. If we continue like we are, we will go extinct. It's just a matter of time. God is our only chance. And without God, there is no true happiness or joy. At least with God we have a desired template of what is expected (ten commandments) but with Man we are taught to be selfish, brutal and only do good so others can see you doing it. Look out for number 1, yourself and do what ever it takes to be number 1. Put yourself first! It blows my mind away to think of people who claim to believe in themselves rather than God when we are such awful creatures.

Good job remaining a "selective" voter! Individual, objective voices is what this Democracy needs. One can be a conservative and still be against other values that a candidate holds. Liz Cheney is a perfect example of that, similar to John McCain. They have/had moral fiber upon which they layer their political viewpoints, as I believe it should be. Idk why you didn't vote for Trump though being conservative and I don't need to know. That is YOUR right. We need more people who can think independently from the "party line." You and I might not agree on everything as I don't consider myself a conservative, but I totally defend your right to your own thoughts and vote. That's personal power. There are too many people who have re-defined the word "democracy" to mean joining some kind of cultish thinking and vote accordingly. I wish the Congress can get away from labels of "Dems" and "Reps," which feed paralysis, and just use the terms "House" and "Senate," and get back to healthy debates and, if need be, compromises. Get rid of the gridlock. I just wanted to address the comments of the one person who was challenging your conservative status just bc you didn't vote for Trump. Be well! :)

In Japan many men are ritually abused by bosses - to the point where they commit suicide. Power harrassment. BUT we must find ways to help out women and change corporate culture.

Megyn is so right about how she describes the impact on victims and what to do. All of these men who were "fired"--Ailes, O'Reilly, Moonves, Lauer---were "fired" with golden parachutes of tens of millions of dollars each. Women who were paid to go away got much less and were never able to work again due to the harassers' blacklisting them. So Megyn's advice about victims getting together to take on a harasser without revealing personal info about the vulnerable. Megyn was able to stand up for other women even after Trump's bullying through his minion Michael Cohen and a horrific experience with a crazy stalker who pursued her and her family for a year. She describes all of this in her book, "Settle for More". She is so smart and beautiful and though I disagree with many of her opinions, I admire her enormously as a fellow journalist and lawyer. Good on you, Megyn!

@C B I'll tell you something which might make you think. I work in a field where I deal with "Stars" and their management. The Hollywood stars can be a pain. On one occasion, I organised a picnic for 2 stars and their managers. We drove to a beautiful place in the country I lived in and brought food and drinks prepared by a 5 star restaurant. We all ate, and the wine flowed. I stayed sober because I I'm a professional. They talked about some major stars and their secret behaviour. The name of Donald Trump, then on his TV show. One said, "Just lock up your daughters," and they chatted about his behaviour around women. I listened but didn't join the conversation. I heard about Trump's ego and constant harassment of young women on set. It was very amusing but typical of a narcissist. They also spoke of his ignorance of most topics of conversation. When he descended the faux gold escalator to announce his run for president, I remembered that afternoon. Surely, they wouldn't elect him. He became president, and I knew the US was in for a rough few years. I was right.

HR does nothing. Not only did I have to put up with a boss like this, but I was also a manager that people reported their abuse too. I tried talking to him, I sat down and unfortunately gave bad advice to steer clear. I called HR, I sat down with other women and called with them. HR came to our store finally after a year of calls... To drug test us all. They never did anything as far as we know. They did end up moving him to another store at one point. I always wondered if he did it there. To make matters worse he was a youth minister outside of work and it was a college town. I was 21 at the time. Now as a grown woman with kids, I wonder what all he was able to get away with.

You don't have to have been physically touched, to have been sexually harassed. I spent 14 years with a boss that berated me and said inappropriate things, said the only position a woman should hold was prone, always finishing with, if you repeat that I'll deny it. Not just to me, to other women. As I rose through the ranks it got worse. Finally I said enough, called Corporate Headquarters and complained. Surprisingly enough they believed me. We had a meeting and he was told he could never speak to anyone in anything other than a business manner. I was asked if I had anything I wanted to ask him. So I asked, How would you feel If someone were to speak to your Daughter the way you talked to me? He just turned his head. His Daughter was his secretary and prized by him.anyway He stayed two years then retired. didn't say anything to anyone.

My first job out of matric I was 17 years, I was the only person in my family who had a job and my boss knew this. This boss man was much older than me (say about 50+) and he tried his moves on me. But I told this boss man exactly where to get stuffed the first and only time he tried his nonsense. I never took the issue to HR or management. He never messed with me again. This was in the late 1980s in South Africa and sadly, so many rights were trampled on. And it was a time when people were getting away with trampling on every human right. I went on to study law, became successful, and today at age 50, I'm happily married with two children, and I don't feel a victim ever because I stopped that man in his tracks. I was having none of it. I have many achievements that I am proud of in my life, but I am very proud of that 17-year teenage woman inside of me that was brave enough to stand up for herself. Anyone, men and women, can be victims of this work type harassment. Be brave and courageous. God Bless xx

I've been afraid of the challenge and tentative, but if I can garner her strength and courage I think I can succeed. She totally changed careers at 32 and look where she is at. I also think that regardless of your political leaning we need to start looking at other people as more similar than different. We don't need to agree with everything another person does - otherwise, we would all be one big homogenous blob with no differences. I think we should start seeing each other as equals with differences and respect the things we can still admire in others who are different.

@@JohnSmith-eo5sp She has a son that she has been raising as a girl since a really young age. Charlize Theron too is a beautiful, intelligent woman. And the has a psycopathic hatred of men. Gotta be some daddy issues in there.

This is a great interview. The young lady may be young but she asks the right questions to Mrs. M. Kelly. August 15, 2024, USA

Megan Kelly is amazing! She’s true to herself, she uses her brilliance to stand her ground, to get behind this revolution of change insofar as women’s self-identity, her standing in the work place, in society itself. She wants to use her life’s time to step out of the muck and mire of politics and beyond treadmill politicians, to explore so many other really important issues. I’m excited to see her continue to just be her best self. Megan Kelly has my respect and admiration. I enjoy her current show. She’s funny, and fun to watch. I just know she’s a great Mom, a woman who has a husband who loves and supports her. She trusts her instincts, and I’m just happy for her, and I’m on her team any day of the week!

Something you should realize. NBC fired Megan but Megan left Fox of her own volition. Now I actually do like her but I realize she is conflicted. I do hope she will finally find her niche of equilibrium.
