My step dad lived in miami when this hit and he said the gusts came in a day before the storm did and people with a lack of technology were convinced the storm arrived “early”

I will never forget this hurricane 🌀 I was only 1 mile away from Homestead AFB 😢it’s was so scary we lost our roof (except for the closest and 1 bathroom) our cars in the garage ended up in the kitchen but the worst part was hearing Adults and children screaming and crying as they tried to find cover cause their house was no longer there just completely gone nothing but the foundation I pray 🙏 for everyone being effected by Ian 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I was living in Florida at this time, I actually walk home because my dad's car couldn't go through the flooding so I wanted home, safe in my home, so walking home felt like it took forever to get home, (my school was only 4 blocks from my school) it definitely very scary, walking I seen trees fallen over from the wind I'm pa t

I visited my friend in Coral Gables during the summer of 93, and the neighbors still had debris on their lawns as if the storm had made landfall that week.
