he has two 2 of hearts, the camera didnt catch it but he swapped the queen with the 2 of hearts. so now the queen is on top of the deck and he folds up the 2 and gives it to her. then he does a double lift to show the other 2 of hearts, the queen is under the 2 of hearts. again he does a double lift ( check at 2:51 there is a break between two cards, check his pinky) and flips it back over, now the queen is on top of the deck which he folds and puts in his mouth. after the reveal, he hides it very nicely to, notice at 3:36 you see the second card faced down and queen face side up. well he puts his palm on the face down pulls it back and puts it on the queen thats faced up. this takes great skill and lots of practice. now the first card is the faced down 2 of hearts because he didnt shuffle after the reveal and the second card is the queen that is faced up. However, I cant explain how it ends up on the blank card.

The o oh way this trick works is if they agreed on a queen of diamonds beforehand. The woman was in on the trick for sure. That’s my theory at least, don’t see any other way about it. There were two queen of diamond and two two of hearts. And then the card from the picture had a film on the back that let you see what’s beneath it when taking a photo. You can see the shine of the film on the side of the card and then he just uses slight of hand to get rid of the film to show the card beneath at the end.

There will be no collusion before the set, instead it is mentalism - where there is an “idea” of free choice given, but a number of gestures, objects, words and actions force the person in the moment to pick something. For example the whole background is a subtle, almost diamond ♦️ lighting setup. Shin Lim also uses very subtle wordplay like “crowned” champions, that forces the subconscious mental choice of the Queen. There may be other things that we cannot see in the background or gestures out of the focus picture that subtly sway her subconscious towards the Queen (most celebrity women do choose the Queen when asked to pick a card). Either way, it is always incredible to witness Shin Lim’s incredible magic.

So I understand everyone commenting on the fact that the queen of diamonds in the end in the phone and on the table did not have her lipstick kiss mark on them, also remember bite mark and fold marks. And most of you are quick to use this as a "debunk" method on his trick. Now as devils advocate. I say this. The pic of the blank card (really important to remember) was taken before she kissed the queen of diamonds. Let alone knew what card she was going to guess. Since she kissed it after she chose and had it shuffled. So in that "REALITY"/dimension or moment in time as he states. That card couldn't have had a kiss mark. Since it happened in a different dimension in a theoretical deck of cards all of which had not been touched by her yet. Which is why at the end when he transfers that card from that dimension to his dimension it has no kiss mark. He also did not say it was "her queen of diamonds" but that "it was the queen of diamonds". Since that dimension had no kiss mark or folds in its cards. Everyone is pointing out the kiss mark. But there are no folds as well. So the way I read it was he brought the card she chose in terms of "just a queen of diaminds" from the past to the future, not THE actual one she chose and kissed/bit. If you watched last weeks performance he did make a card with Terry's signature travel from the stage after the whole act to Howies cup inside a closed lid in a sealed bag. Proving in my mind if he wanted to bring and transfer a card with lipstick on it and the other stuff from the phone to his current time period he could have. But that may have been harder to explain if we are talking multiple time lines here and that opens the gate way for some wild dimensional theory. I dont know, just something to think about. That's just how I interpreted the whole act. But I also just like to enjoy a trick for what it is and let some mystery be, so I can enjoy the act.

So after many hours of studying this trick I have figured out how it’s done. At the start of the trick he tries to divert everyone’s attention away from the thickness of the cards themselves. It didn’t matter what card she chose because he knew which card had her chosen card glued to the back in order for him to I don’t know what the hell im talking about and I actually have no idea how he did it.

Either it was staged with Melissa, or he took a really risky route and guessed that she would pick the queen of diamonds. Rest of the performance is a lot of sleight of hand. For example, he palms the queen of diamonds and places it on top of the deck after she stops dealing cards

Shin is a master of misdirection and has developed his card manipulation skills far beyond belief. At around 1:10 Shin Lim palms the queen of diamonds. He then proceeds to put the hand of his that has the queen of diamonds below the table and places it their temporarily, and then grabs it later by sleight of hand and places it back ontop of the card she stopped at. Unfortunately the camera work/editing does not show this part making it look even more amazing. Similar sleight of hand for the 2 of hearts / queen of diamonds in the mouth. There is a double 2 of hearts in the deck and he forces her to bite one of the 2 of hearts by sleight of hand/forced card. 3:00 He shows a 2 of hearts in his hand but when he flips it, he's actually flipping 2 cards, being the queen of diamonds on top. The camera/photo of her with the card... I have no idea, but a bit of a gimmick in some way.

@@johnpaulmanuel6428 There are two copies of 2 of hearts in the deck. Shim switched the Queens Hearts with the first copy of 2 Hearts and gave it to Melissa. The Queens Hearts was returned to the deck with the second copy of 2 Hearts. Shim was showing his second copy of 2 Hearts but actually put the Queens Hearts into his mouth.
