Watched it twice. You can see him place a card in the deck and then he slams the deck down. The red card that was inserted obviously was a sticker and he slammed it down to make sure that the card stuck in top. So, when he found the red card, it was the two of diamonds on the bottom and the red card on top.

God, this was a total mess 💀 From the camera crew not getting the close-up shot that Shin wanted at 2:50, to Shin messing up the trick right after that (whatever happened to the signed card), and then to the interviewers ending the trick early because they ran out of time, so Shin couldn't even recover or finish his trick. Not one of Shin's proudest moments 😂

Ummm. If the effect is something that shouldn't be possible then it's magic. Not in the actual witch wizard sense but in the come parlin sense that it is an illusion made using subtle techniques that may be hard to catch or understand without learning or scrutiny
