@@StefanC123 So now we aren't able to report suspicious behavior? We just have to wait for bad things to happen? The police calmly told him to stop walking and he continued to walk away. They were just going to check him. If he truly was innocent he would have complied with them without hesitation or fear. Additionally, he clearly was on something. For a small guy it took 2 police officers to contain him. So YOUR argument is wack. I hope you never become a police officer if you aren't going to do anything.
@MeauxGreenMusic

Stefan C. Actually he did kinda run away which is why he got physically detained. At 1:10 they tell him 10 times to stop and he didn’t, which raises suspicion further. If you’re not doing anything wrong why not stop and answer the questions. He tried to just leave. They are legally allowed to stop him and telling him to stop is a legal order. That’s how it works. At 1:50 they ask him again please just comply and he still doesn’t and gets physical.

Elijah should of stopped and simply spoke with the officers when they asked him to. It’s really that simple. The first officer said “ Do me a favor stop right there, hey stop right there, stop, stop, stop, stop, I have a right to stop you because your being suspicious. Also Elijah should of never reached for the officers gun, I understand that there’s no video of Elijah grabbing the officers gun but that’s because 1 camera fell to the ground and the position of the other 2 officers because Elijah was resisting the whole time so the officers were really close to him and you can’t see if he grabbed for the gun but also think about this, why would the cop say that when there very well could of been video of him grabbing? Anyways Elijah should of simply stopped because the officer did have a reason to stop him and Elijah should of cooperated.

@Michele Jackson , it doesn't matter, because the cops should not have stopped him in the first place. It's not a crime for looking suspicious, because what one person thinks looks suspicious might look normal to another person. This falls on the police and how they are not held accountable for how they police. Speculating on what the callers motives were is the same as how the cops speculated on the young man they killed.

First of all he resisted an arrest (which is a crime in it's own) and, even if we might not have seen it on camera, tried to grab a police officers gun so he's the one in fault and also the one guilty for his own actions. He could've just accepted the arrest and not try to hassle around which with the cops which in the end is all his fault. Sadly he passed away to soon and he seemed like an inoccent man with a bright future but in the end actions often causes consequences and that's just life.

And also I don't think you even heard the last part of this video because they never stated that it was the cops that killed Elijah. They said that they never could determine the death becuase it was either to a reaction to the ketamine that the ambulance workers gave him, from a natural death or from the control hold the cops had him in. The thought that a innocent boy who was minding his business and not bothering anyone was murdered because some entitled person felt the need to report him because he had on a SKI MASK, all types of people wear them but the one night a young black male decided to go to the store and mind his business he is tackled to the ground, and later on murdered because he protested against being stopped? It is sad to think that this is the world we live in and there is nothing that can change the fact that innocent people have to worry about if they will make it back home to their families safely or if they will be wrongfully stopped and accused of committing a crime because they “look suspicious” to ONE person. This is sickening and I hope he receives/d justice. RIP Elijah.

1) People need to mind their own business. Why call the police for someone walking with a mask on when they weren't doing anything wrong. 2) People need to just be cool with cops and listen to commands, do as instructed, and things will go smoothly. If officers abuse a person, appropriate legal action should be taken. 3) Officers need to be cool and talk to people who they confront. When they've done nothing wrong or anything obvious, let the person know whats up and be cool with them. This whole ordeal could have and should have been totally avoided. RIP Elijah.

An unarmed young man, not bothering anybody walking alone, this is how they act? The family deserves justice, society does. These cops need to be in jail and released decades later as felons. Never allowed to be cops, again. If the cops were nervous about the guy walking, get out of car keep eyes on the guy, even hands on weapons at their side. And then all they had to do was tell him, "Could you please take off your mask? Where are you going? We want to make sure everything here is okay." The young guy was zero threat to anyone. My sincerest condolences to his family. This is sickening to me. God, please bless that young man's soul.
