@christopher the cops should’ve listened clearly from the first contact with him u could clearly hear that he is somewhere on the Autism spectrum at that point their approach should immediately change. Officers have a cookie cutter way of handling every situation and it seems like when ppl they simply suspect of wrong doing (kid did absolutely nothing that warranted being stopped) then resort to force. Often excessive force and then the justification is he should’ve complied or he was sketchy. And all 3 cameras coincidentally dislodged from all the officers vest? 😒 A 140pound guy took down 3 men? The young man was choked twice, handcuff, then later injected with 500mg of ketamine, while he was motionless. A lethal substance. Then one person yell he grab your gun. Yeah right!!! The thought that a innocent boy who was minding his business and not bothering anyone was murdered because some entitled person felt the need to report him because he had on a SKI MASK, all types of people wear them but the one night a young black male decided to go to the store and mind his business he is tackled to the ground, and later on murdered because he protested against being stopped? It is sad to think that this is the world we live in and there is nothing that can change the fact that innocent people have to worry about if they will make it back home to their families safely or if they will be wrongfully stopped and accused of committing a crime because they “look suspicious” to ONE person. Sure it's a special case, however, if he has special needs there should be someone with him when he goes out. Take responsibility rather than shout victim. Plus, the police are not at fault for his death in any case. Follow the directions of the police, teach your kids to follow directions. It's that simple.

Never allowed to be cops, again. If the cops were nervous about the guy walking, get out of car keep eyes on the guy, even hands on weapons at their side. And then all they had to do was tell him, "Could you please take off your mask? Where are you going? We want to make sure everything here is okay." The young guy was zero threat to anyone. Maybe the cops should be trained in some social work/psychology instead of just coming out of high school into the job. And if that’s too much for them, maybe the PD should invest in a unit specially trained to deal with people with these kinds of differences. Autism isn’t an invisible illness anymore, there is plenty of information being given to the police in every community that has people with ASD living in them to prepare them on how to interact with this subset of people. To do this poor of a job with someone who is clearly differently abled they literally have to be balling that info up and throwing it in the trash.

Also Elijah should of never reached for the officers gun, I understand that there’s no video of Elijah grabbing the officers gun but that’s because 1 camera fell to the ground and the position of the other 2 officers because Elijah was resisting the whole time so the officers were really close to him and you can’t see if he grabbed for the gun but also think about this, why would the cop say that when there very well could of been video of him grabbing?
