Past and present generations born into artificial systems weren't aware of any blood covenants of God or that they were the chosen ppl of God. Apparently the captors read the original scrolls of the word of God and made it fit their own narrative as if they were the chosen ppl of God so they can usurp the land and exploit humans for their own benefit and pleasures. D New Testament was written in Koine, Greek. All d manuscripts have this verse. It is authentic and wise if both parts of d verse are observed by both parties for it also exhorts d masters not to be harsh to their slaves. He actually encouraged d slave to seek for freedom if he could. At that time you could buy your freedom. Apostle Paul wrote against anarchy. A rebellious slave would suffer greatly under d law of that time and about half d Roman empire were slaves. It was better to be slave to a fellow Christian than to rebel and be sold to whoever.

The Lord does not apply this law to a specific nation. He did not say ANYWHERE that the Israelites could take slaves from other nations, okay. The committee that formed the NIV especially were perverted people, that decided to formulate their own INTERPRETATIONS, not translate The Bible and they used a corrupted Greek Manuscript to formulate that pervertedness version. Entire passages of scriptures have been removed. It's just that, so many people have been deceived into believing that it doesn't matter what Bible version we use. But they are ignorant to the plot of satan to discredit G-D's Words, in the minds of the masses. Legal slavery in the US ended in 1865. Though it being the times it was I would imagine it took a while for word to get out so I'm sure there were still people held in bondage well past then. Plus humans being who they are I'm also sure plenty of slaveholders either ignored the law or came up with exploitative systems to essentially keep former slaves in bondage. In any case the last slaves died between the 1960s and 1970s. The civil Rights movement of the 1960s finally put legal civil rights gaurantees into law that gave every minority rights under the weight of the law. Even then blatant descrimination lingered throughout the 70s, 80s, and even 90s. Afterwards it became more subtle until the current occupant of the White House gave a signal to all that it's ok to come out and be as blatantly racist as you want. All this to say the last slaves in the US died inly 49-60 years ago yet the same society that robbed them and their families and descendents of their wealth and potential to obtain wealth expects them to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps". Even after slavery blacks was not allowed to work in numerous occupations. Which is why I was still hearing about the first black man or woman to become (fill in the blank) while growing up in the 80s and 90s. All these lovers of pulling yourself up by the bootstraps benefited from an unjust immoral system. Who is to say your great grandfather would have became a successful doctor, lawyer or businessman if the system allowed everyone to compete on an even playing field. The easiest way to visualize this is by looking at major league baseball. Without a doubt there were some white players in MLB back then only because the league banned black players. A host of extremely talented black players like Josh Gibson and Satchel Paige, Cool Pappa Bell were cheated and in their place were inferior players who only made the roster because more talented players were banned for the sin of being black. That applies to every skilled occupation in the US. We lost out on so much innovations and talent and we're still losing out due to economic realities of today for minirities that can be traced directly back to slavery and its racist cousin Jim Crow.
