Have to keep reminding myself this is a tv show, But so many of the scenarios are snatched from real life events, Voight struggles wth being a cop by the book. He, the character he plays, seems to be a good dude. Look forward to every episode and binge watch the earlier seasons repeatedly.

This episode was all too real. It hit home for a lot of people. That facial recognition software is bollocks! An innocent man lost his life because of this software! The fact that it targets Black people boils my blood! Throw the whole damn facial recognition software away! Sad thing is this is happening in real life. Just because the shoe fits, doesn’t mean that they’re wearing it. There’s only one true fit among a million possible matches.

You are crazy if you think we should throw away a new tech bcos its not working correctly. The wise decision is to improve it rather banning it. And the second thing is why are there so less black engineers in US? If there were a good no of black engg this problem would not have arised . The face tech only revealed the truth of black under representation in STEM field in US. The problem is how did it get passed without proper testing? Were there no black senators or officials present during its testing? People shld focus on raising correct qus to improve the future ,rather than killing the tech which actually revealed the truth to the world.

They let that another black man take the fall for being a cop killer. The white cop planted his dna on his gun then he killed himself. @@nurashiqin164 #skyewilliams This is just my thoughts on the matter: 1. Because they made a BIG mistake. 2. Questions would need to be answered. How? An internal investigation. 3. Jay Halstead would no doubt lose his job and perhaps Voight too. 4. Markus West family would have sued the City and Police Department for wrongful death etc. 5. Voight let "Street Justice" handle the rightful murderer, which they later found out was someone from the Hustlers own crew.

Oh dear. You can see the pain on Jay's face. And why do so many people test something predominantly on white folks? That is just wrong. I am white myself, but I do not condone things being made easiest for white people. I am all for integration, heck, my first real crush was a black boy! Honestly, if people don't think about including every skintone into these codes, why do they even make them?

This was one of the worst policing i have seen on chicago pd. I was just very sad after this episode. There are a lot of inmates doing time in prison because the prosecutors threaten them with 15 to 25 years in prison or take few years and admit a crime you did not commit. Markus West's legacy is a junky who killed 2 kids for the rest of his life to his family and friends. And Voight and the crew are fine with it.

In order to stir up drama for this episode, the writers decided the coders were kinda idiots who didn't keep in mind they were writing a program for facial recognition for the police to catch criminals and that Chicago had Black and Asian too? Not sure about that kind of direction for the episode. Mistakes, often grave ones, do happen but these guys were supposed to be professionals working for the department yet what, they forgot to test it on black people too? What kinda professionals didn't think about this when they were running the tests? And please, for the sake of love, will no one come in and tell me "because they're white".

I know we don’t need any reminders, but it’s always still worth mentioning. Hank Voight is the badass BOSS of Intelligence. I loved how he told one of the street guys “Do I look like I give a damn about a drug deal/bust?” His focus was on the murder of the 2 kids. When he popped the real killer’s (can’t remember his name) trunk & stole the duffel bag, I said damn Hank. I couldn’t have imagined that he was going to give it back to the street guy, in exchange for “street justice”. All I could say was oh sh*t Hank.......repeatedly. 😳😳This was an absolutely phenomenal episode. Definitely want to watch it again. How we all look forward to Wednesday’s. 👍🏽

Not to me it almost hints at colorism which the black community needs to address

Now that you put it that way, a little bit. But I don't think it's enough to be a concern.

It’s the whole point of the scene? Hence a play one words... the programme they use is harder to use the darker your skin making it inherently racist. But that’s just my opinion.

Well its true. The darker you are, the worse it is for you. When you are dark skinned, you have to deal with racism from whites and other races and you have to deal with colorism from your own race.
