I have grown to love NBC's telecasts. They do an amazing job with camera angles, and especially for huge races like the Triple Crown with the side and aerial view cameras. I hope they keep up hosting many races since their expanded coverage has been amazing!

Sadly the owners of these expensive owners are too cheap to keep them til the mature and as you say maintain them as in I would think meaning maintaining their health. These horses should not be racing at 2 and 3 as they are not physically mature yet. Hopefully in time one day racing them this young will end. Btw I am a fan of horse racing, especially harness racing as I wanted to be in it all my life, so not a hater of the sport but like with many things there always is room for improvement.

I like both of these top 2 in the Derby. Roadster was initially the "better" of the two horses according to Baffert. Maybe that is coming to the fruition. It looks like a lot of talent in this years derby. Maximum Security looks good, as did Omaha Beach in their prep races. Should be a great KD.

According to Trakus, Game Winner traveled 38 more feet than Roadster did. That was the difference.

True but Mike Smith never asked Roadster who won on a vigorous hand ride and in a 20 horse field it is all about position ans sometimes luck so both horses if training well should be live!

Still waitn 2 c what happens in Arkansas Derby but right now i have Maximum Security & Roadster as my 1 - 2 with Tacitus very close behind as my #3.... Might come down 2 choosn btween Maximum Security, Roadster & Tacitus on Kentucky Derby day.... Def very impressd by Maximum Security ~ he is an incredible horse w/tremendous horsepower!!!

I don't know how Game winner did as well as he did with Rosario flopping around on him like that. The other jockey's heads are nice and still while Game winner is more than likely trying to stay upright. If Mike smith rides Game winner in the last two races, The colt would be undefeated. I have seen Rosario ride so much better than this. If Baffert wants Game Winner to have his best race in the derby, He either needs to get Rosario fixed or find someone who can ride him without wearing him out.

All these complaints about a wide ride for Game Winner but Baffert knows he needs a target and the real mistake was engaging with Instagrand to early as this horse sometimes hangs on the lead. The primary goal is the roses and please note that Silver Charm was given a similar ride when Freehouse went by and he fought back after the wire in 97 and then promptly came back to win 2/3 of the triple crown. Both horses are capable and you may get 5-1 on Game Winner in Kentucky which is not bad!

6 horse field. Only one with a shot in KY is Game Winner. As far as prep races go, I give the FL and LA derby winners a better shot in KY, or those also rans in those races.

None of the three Baffert horse's are fast out of the gate. Usually in the Derby, or in recently anyway, the winner breaks fast, but doesn't have to have the lead. Baffert's horses this year do not break fast. Omaha Beach does break good, and also has that push button acceleration which is huge in the 20 horse Ky. Derby. Game Winner, Roadster and Improbable could be compromised by their running style. Game winner has lost both his race's this year. Improbable breaks slow and could, but not necessary,

Some of the area's 3 YOs went east when the track was closed. On the upside, there were some quality horses in this small field. And it was a great race. The top 2 have solid shots to hit the board in Kentucky, including in the top spot.

He hangs back of the pack and not hitting the gas till the straight and he will be the best horse who finishes 3rd. Outside passes and late runs will not get it done unless the 2nd place horse in this race is the 2nd best horse this year.

they said running outside 5 wide 6 wide or 8 wide is game winners style..Wrong. That is Joel the jockey running style he always rides wide and late. He is running game winner like a closer and he is not a closer. He is a stalker with a one big grinding move much like Point Given was and he is tenacious like Silver Charm. Joel is always ridding him to wide. He is killing this horse. In his last 3 races game winner was widest on the turn in each turn and never got a breather. The fact that this horse has won while being handicapped by his jockey is impressive. Game Winner needs a new jockey or he will not win the Kentucky Derby. If this was Bafferts only horse Joel would not be the rider. Everyone knows Mike Smith would have had this horse. I fell sorry for the horse. If he had another trainer like D.Wayne Lukas you know Lukas would take better care of the horse by switching jockeys. Baffert is doing business with this horse...trust me.."business" Baffert is not being honest with this horse.. its 😔 sad.

@Smogger911 What about Tacticus? He got banged around really good in the Wood and still had enough of his head together to settle and then run right by Tax. A Tapit out of Close Hatches? Doesn't that say 1 and 1/4 miles? And who knows what that Servis speed demon will do? The GP track was not playing particularly fast and yet ... 1:48 and he closed in 12? So he made a mistake putting him in a 16k maiden claimer. Lukas twice put Charismatic in for a claim and he won two legs of the TC. Game Winner is hardly the lock you make him out to be.

All I know is most of the favorites are gonna be mixing it up early. Maximum Security, Game Winner, and others will guarantee a solid pace in this one. So, my strategy is going to be using three front runner/ just off the pace horses with three late runners( two that are huge prices.) and hope to at least get half the tri. I’d be good with that .

@@michaelpflug394 Tapits have proven themselves to run extremely well on off tracks. Their Tomlinson numbers are huge. Tacitus will benefit more than Win Win Win, I believe. He also has a better pedigree for a mile and a quarter than the horse you mentioned, and certainly a much better broodmare in Close Hatches. He screams classic distance.

Omaha Beach is a better horse then Roadster and Game Winner. His times are better. Just saying. Watch the Arkansas Derby next week. Mike Smith is going to have a very hard choice to make come KD time. Who will he choose to ride? I do not believe it will be Roadster. Mike Smith is Omaha Beach's Jockey as well.

@outside absolute correct. Joel gave game winner a wide ride..looked more like a open workout. Baffert wanted Roadster to win so he could get in the derby. Game Winner didn't need to win. But notice the gallop out after the wire.. Game winner hits another gear and blows by Roadster.
