The Jays are both chill and relatively quiet dudes. As a quiet guy myself, I’ve noticed that when you don’t say much, people will start talking for you and put words in your mouth, and will run with their own narratives about you- that’s basically what the media is doing with the Jays. It’s not fair to them, they just want to focus on basketball, they don’t want to waste their time trying to dispel false headlines 24/7.

I know Danny ainge made a lot of mistakes as gm and was heavily criticized, but at the end of the day he did one of the greatest things that has ever been done for the organization in drafting these two guys two years in a row at number 3. He did a lot that pissed me off but I’ll always be grateful to him for managing to secure two generational talents who are also great people. We easily could have ended up with Simmons or markelle fultz, not to knock either of those guys but I’d much rather have Jaylen and Jayson. Somehow he knew that they were the right move and he couldn’t have been more correct. They’re gonna win more than one championship together in Boston, and both will be Celtics legends at the end of it
@timsweeney6843 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% with everything you just said. Another thing, both of them are WORKERS. Jaylen Brown has gotten a million times better since he came into the league. Ben Simmons is pretty much the same player. Tatum has noticeably improved every year as well.
@gyoyobw1233 жыл бұрын
Ainge was fine and he did a really good job as a GM. He was an amazing GM actually. His major slip up was the last 2 years. He shouldn't have drafted 4 rookies in 2019 draft and instead should've traded those picks. Signing Teague and Thompson was a disaster. Didn't do enough in 2020 offseason to make the team competitive. So yeah he's made some bad draft picks/signings over the years (every GM has), but the Celtics would easily be in a much worse position if not for Ainge.

But I like Jaylen Brown beyond just what he does on the court, I just love that he’s a bona fide genius. I loved that Matt Patricia was a genius, too. And (I know he’s gone now, but…) I loved that Mookie Betts was a semi-pro bowler. I, personally, think having the 2 geniuses is cooler than having a semi-pro bowler, but both things are awesome
