Also do the phillies batters know that the pitchers are going to pound their weak points? How many times is turner and castellanos going to swing at the same pitch in the dirt. DBacks studied our players, the way they hit and what they usually swing for. They were using their pitchers for a reason, like pieces in a puzzle, we were switching pitchers because each one started throwing too many balls! They waited to come home to lose like that! They let us down. I will not say thank you for a great season, I'm not over it yet! I am disgusted, and pissed off and I am gonna stay that way for a week or so. I don't forgive them. I can't.

This simple fact is that as much as “experts” want to say that the Phillies are built for October, it’s just simply not the case. Teams don’t advance to the in the postseason by being so dependent on home runs. First and foremost in October, you have to make contact and get on base… you have to be able to manufacture runs.

When I saw the early games against Arizona I thought that the habit of the Phillies to have solo homeruns might lead to a tendency to depend on them. I'd rather see a mix - some singles and doubles and some home runs. Manufacturing runs to win games is good. Depending on solo home runs allows the opponents to adjust their pitching. After the second NLCS game many of the Phillies hitters went cold, and I think that indicates an adjustment by Arizona.

This team lives by the home runs and when they dont get it it really shows this team swings for home runs and doubles and it backfired so much that you have trea of all people having ugly swings and at bats. This team took the Diamondbacks so lightly after game 2 and game 5 it much like Braves and dodgers when they played down against competition
@mbiym215
@mbiym215 11 ай бұрын
Agreed, the Diamondbacks were relaxed at their at bats, just playing the game as opposed to the Phillies that are so intent on hitting homers and when they don't nothing else is done, on another note it feels as if having runners on base is their kryptonite...I would tell my son all the opposing team has to do is walk a Phillie or 2 and they won't do anything after that.

Don't get me wrong Ricky is right, they didn't show up. IS there anything the players can do about the reporters questioning them before and after every game? The Phillies were trolled hard by reporters asking the same questions day in and out. It messes with their head and mood. And they arent asking questions the fans want to hear, so why are they allowed to taunt them before and after each game. Do they do that in football as well?

Want to know who showed up Zach Wheeler and that was it he deserves credit for what he did. Can you say that about anyone else. Nola struggled in game 6, Ranger I was shocked didn't pitch well except for 1 inning in the 4th. Kimbrel blew two games in ARZ. Alvarado was good in certain games but last night didn't show up. The entire bullpen always had one that had to walk a batter. But the blame really needs to be on the star players who did not show up once again. Just like last year in WS. I am glad that it was brough not up last years WS game 4 they get no hit and did nothing to adjust. What is the silver lining the last 2 years that they lost the series they DO NOT MAKE ADJUSTMENTS. Topper, Long, then the players do not change their approach. That is the only reason that I will give credit to the Dbacks from game 3-7 they made the adjustments pitchers and hitters. This was totally total collapse on the Phillies and that it why we are home watching and the DBacks are moving on

Sorry, but it never should have even gotten to Game 6 and 7. Rob Thomson's decision to put Kerkering and Kimbrel in Game 4 with a 5-2 lead after Kerkering and Kimbrel both blew Game 3 the night before was what lost that series for the Phillies. Thomson should have known better than to put Kerkering and Kimbrel in Game 4 after how bad they were in Game 3, especially when he had Walker and Lorenzen in the bullpen and could've used them instead. They hold that 5-2 lead in Game 4, they win the NLCS in Game 5 and go to the World Series.

Great pitching ALWAYS beats great hitting, and nobody made adjustments pitching wise or hitting wise when needed. As someone who was at a lot of these games, I can say without a doubt that I'm sure the stars buckled under the pressure. Everybody was expecting them to come up big, so they were being overly aggressive and swinging at everything instead of slowing everything down and making the pitchers throw strikes. Yeah the loss sucks but I still believe in this team. Our biggest actual weak point is the bullpen, a lot of the guys have nasty stuff, but 0 command. Even Alvarado still has close to a 50% walk rate and don't even get me started on Dominguez. Kimbrel is only good for about 40 game in a season and ALWAYS has choked in the playoffs. At the end of the day baseball is a fickle game and I don't believe for one second these guys wanted to lose or didn't give their all to try to win. They just buckled under the pressure, surprise surprise they're human too just like the rest of us. So many Phillies hitters made history this postseason, did y'all really think it was going to stay that way every game?

The Philadelphia Phillies will never even make the World Series again. Period. Every one of them is anti clutch. When it gets tough, they curl up in a ball and strikeout. Plenty of blame to go around.. Dbacks played together as a team while The Phillies batters were trying each be the hero. Chasing pitches instead of working counts & finding pitches. Dbacks bullpen was also better then our bullpen. Phillies ALL year never had a legitimate closer/setup guy and it killed the Phillies when it mattered due to having to rely on guys like Craig Kimbrel(who clearly isn't that dude anymore) & rookie Orion Kerrkiling in the playoffs (probably spelled his name wrong). Next year is going to be interesting. They need guys that play fundamental baseball. They need to get rid of the Homerun or bust mentality as it's not a recipe for winning baseball. Now watch the Phillies go after Mike Trout.. Sounds great and all but idk how I feel about it with where Trout is at in his career.

Phillies were out played in all phases of the last five games. A young unknown team with half the salary outplayed them. Another problem was Phillies either watched a fastball right down the middle of the plate and missed fastballs. debacle did not miss the fastball. When they saw one, they hit it for a hit.

Listen, I am not a Philly fan, I am a Detroit tiger fan. Having said that I do like the Phillies and wanted them to win. We haven’t been to the playoffs since 2014, almost 10 years at this point if we get a winning season we’re going to be happier than we are now. But the hardest thing I have to listen to is two host absolutely lambasting your team! Should they have won? Yeah probably, but you have to remember there’s 32 teams that are vying for the same thing the Phillies were this year. Winning the World Series is fucking tough! That’s why it’s been 25 years since anybody has repeated. Either of you, too, or the people commenting on the show, and myself could never do with these guys do. And if you think they didn’t give it all, then you’re way out in left field and need to stay there because these guys gave it their all for your city. That is why I will never react this way if any of my sports teams get into the championship series or the World Series, or the Super Bowl, etc. because they kept us entertained all year and believe me, yeah, it rips our heart out to see our team lose like they did coming home and only needed to win one of two games at home against a team that was barely over 500, but that’s why we play the games and sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the pitcher or the team that beat you. Just saying.

The Phillies just did what they did too many times during the regular season, only at the worst possible time. It's in their nature, they're built this way. They can be the most exciting team to watch and they can can be the exact opposite of it. Only an angry man who gets paid to keep screaming and judge in disbelief wouldn't be able to see that. At this point I say who is safe from being traded? Shouldn’t be anyone. I love Bryce and JT and all those guys but the Astros, DBacks, and Rangers all are doing what we thought that this roster could do, without any player on this roster. So again I ask why is any person on this team considered safe? They can’t win the chip together. They make a great team. Not a championship team. I’m not saying rebuild what I’m saying is no one on this team should be considered untouchable.

Here's the bottom line. The Manages, or so called Manager Dropped the Ball in this Series as in at least 15 to 20 games during the season. His lack of lineup changes, his lack of knowing small ball, Also his lack of any Discipline on this team should lead to his firing. He was nothing but a yes man in the American league. Why do you think he was never thought of being interviewed as a possible manager before the Phillies usual Old boy network hired him. Nola should be told thanks but no thanks. The other two, one a free agent and is glad he is. Walker should tell them he wants to be traded because of lack of any respect from the so called manager. His lack of use of both of them and his insistence of keeping a NO HIT Miner League Player in the lineup. He gave the other team and Manager a Almost Guaranteed out and I am sure the other manager would o loved to thank him for it. Also, the slap in the face to the Real Center Fielder on this team should be enough to tell anyone that his knowledge of Baseball as a Manager is a total joke. To Give Cave a nothing at bat in the series is also a slap in the face. Cave was doing fine till the Rojas was brought up. It's time for a change & that Change is the Manager. Last year, they won in spite of his Screw Ups. Give the job to Mickey Morandini. If anyone can get this team right, he can. I would also think about the so called hitting coach & saying goodbye to him and his aggressive hitting style.

Saalfrank's got really good stuff, and he should bounce back and be okay. In any case the dbacks staff will figure it out because that's what they do. They never just say, oh well, that's baseball. Brent Strom and Torey Lovello NEVER let things go.

The problems are systemic. This offense is not going to win us a championship. This era of Phillies baseball is over. If you're so mentally weak that you perform that badly in clinching games, you're not a championship team. This is a mentally weak $250 million team. I think they should trade every single player who doesn't have a No Trade and ask every one who does to waive it, gut this team, acquire a ton of great prospects, and rebuild around Painter and Abel in 2025. I hope they lose 100 games next year so that the decision will be made for us. Because as of now, Dombrowski is going to shell out more money on free agents, and those fatal offensive flaws that have bit this team two straight years will once again go unaddressed. No acquisition can fix a systemic issue. Gut this fraud team.

Okay, hears my question. Do y’all really think that those 2 games, game 6 and game 7 were really the Phillies playing?? How can the 5 superstars of the team come up to the plate and swing at literally nothing??? ALL 5 of them? It doesn’t make any sense at all! None of!!! ALL of these sports games are rigged ! It’s a pay off! It’s all about money! They make Billions and Billions of dollars doin this crap. And it will never end. Why, because of us! Smoke and mirrors! We are all sheep!

GET SOME AFRICAN AMERICAN STARS. When left for the Bryce Harpers of the world, they will choke and choke again .. As an African American living in Philly, it was a pleasure again to see the Phillies get bounce again. Not as enjoyable as seeing Dusty Baker and a team full of Hispanic players blow them out in last years World Series, but still fun to watch. LMAO.

It was a bad FOUR GAMES not TWO !! Harper, Castellanos, Turner and Schwarber were to blame, but if Kimbrel is not the number ONE reason- and is not deleted permanently from this roster- the Phillies deserve what they get. They had a 2-0 lead in games, then LOST 4 of 5 !! That is a dismal, putrid performance, making this 'improved' '23 team WORSE than the '22 team that actually made it to the World Series ! Side note- if Rojas cannot improve his hitting, then he must be considered a platoon, late innings defensive replacement, and NOT an every day player. In these playoffs, he hurt the team with his bat, and didn't make up for it on defense!
