I do 4 blocks of uworld a day in exam mode and I agree question fatigue can be a determining factor if you're not used to be sitting in front of a screen +5hrs a day. I believe a new set of nbme's are coming out the 27th
@DrChalla3 жыл бұрын
Thats amazing! 4 blocks is quite impressive. I agree, new NBMEs will be out on the 27th. I will release an NBME order list before that. It will probably take time before we understand the predictive values of the new tests. Once those are out, I might release an updated video

The video will be out within the next week so please subscribe so you get notified when it comes out :) also I discuss when I think you should take your NBMEs in this video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qorXYmyYpsl7Z8U) but in short, I would prefer to take it after the first round of uworld :)

And uworld 1 round is effective or 2 ?
@DrChalla3 жыл бұрын
Well all people are different, so I can't speak for everyone. Different people have a different baseline level of knowledge when starting usmle, and some people, whilst having knowledge, have difficulties applying it in a clinical setting. I personally prefer 2 rounds of Uworld, one as a learning tool and the second as an assessment tool. I talk more about it in this video here so I'd definitely recommend for you to check this out :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZ24dHeJidSAo7c

Now that Step 2 ck is terminated what will Non us IMGs go through who want a surgical residency?
@zorrento143 жыл бұрын
It's CS not coming back, CK is still required
@DrChalla3 жыл бұрын
To my knowledge, Step 2 CS is cancelled, not Step 2 CK. I don't believe that the cancellation of step 2 cs changes the state of IMGs that much since it is a pass fail test, and it barely provides any objective measures to assess candidates by. My advice would be to score well in Step 1, Step 2 CK, approach surgery staff for research oppurtunities and do rotations in surgical specialities. :)

Hello Dr Challa. Hope you are doing fine. I really love your videos and the way you simplify the questions regarding the steps to a good marks. I started taking NBME's recently. 1st, NBME 21 - 196 (UW 1st pass 75-80% done at that moment) 4.5 months out, 2nd, NBME 28 (UW 1st pass done) - 215 3 months out.My expectations and reality devastated me. My exam is in 3.5 months. Can i reach a 250-260 with my progress (by which i am not satisfied one bit, sorry for seeming so ungrateful). Can i make it to 260? Your honest, valuable opinion will be highly appreciated and i shall be grateful. And what can i do to improve myself? Thankyou for reading this long comment out of your very busy schedule.

How important is American accent for usmle??? I am half-way there
@DrChalla3 жыл бұрын
In my experience, it really doesn't matter whether you have an american accent or not. All you need to learn is to be efficient when you speak and get your point across. As long you're able to convey your message to the listener, the accent is quite irrelevant.
